Dashlane compared
Okay I know I'm heading into hostile territory here but I swear I'm on the 1Password side of things.
But I've spent several years prior to recently moving over to 1Pass as a Dashlane user and the biggest difference I've noticed is that the autofill behavior is, overall, quite a bit nicer on Dashlane (at least on MacOS, using a Chrome-based browser (Arc)).
(And for what it's worth, I'm also part of a discussion on a private community website where this same consensus seems to have been reached).
Without taking the time to post specific examples, I'd like to encourage someone at 1Pass to do a more thorough comparison between the two to understand where 1Pass is falling short.
I also really miss the feature that Dashlane has that allows you for ANY field to right click and get to a menu of possible autofill options. So if Dashlane doesn't recognize that a certain field is asking for a credit card number but as a human it's obvious to me, I can right click and navigate down to the place where I can tell Dashlane what to put into that field. Not only does it make it easy for me to fix websites that aren't working right, I'm assuming Dashlane is collecting very valuable data about how to improve their autofill across many different websites.
(And does the ability to choose an autosuggested password not work on all websites? I didn't see a popup for it when I was signing up on this 1Password user forum!)
There are certainly things I prefer about 1Pass, obviously, which is why I switched. Most notably the fact that there's a dedicated MacOS app rather than requiring me to access things solely via a browser plugin.
But I'm hoping that someone at 1Pass is taking this deficit seriously and looking into how they can best catch up (and surpass!) what Dashlane is providing in this area.

Hi ron! Thanks very much for sharing your detailed feedback on this.

I understand it's not the same, but a couple options to access your data in an unrecognized field would be clicking into 1Password in the browser, or using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + X), or alternatively using Quick Access. From there you can copy and paste or drag and drop.
For websites with finicky sign ins, or other forms, you can also try approaching this from another angle. Paste or type in your information, then right click anywhere on the page and select 1Password - Password Manager > Save > item type > Save/Update.
And does the ability to choose an autosuggested password not work on all websites?
If you don't see a suggested password automatically you can click the settings button on the dropdown, then select Password Generator.
While I can't promise the inclusion of specific features, I've gone ahead and shared your feedback with the team. We regularly iterate on and enhance our features, including filling, so input like this is always greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
