Disable frequently used

I don't want any usage-related metadata stored with my 1Password items, including recency and frequency. I see it as a security risk. Is there any way to disable this?

Hi jamesn thanks for your question!

There isn't a setting to disable that information from being stored with items, or surfaced in the apps - other than say, changing which sections appear on the 1Password for Android or iOS Home tab.

I'd be interested to hear more about the security risk you see here, and what sort of options you'd like to have available, so I can pass your comments along to the team. Thanks again!

The risk I see is that a bad actor can infer usage patterns and other information from how often or how recently something is accessed. I get that it's useful for most people, but disabling the collection of metadata like that should be an option IMO.

Thanks for the additional details jamesn. Just to fill in the picture a bit more, are you picturing this in a "shoulder surfing" type of scenario where someone could hypothetically glean information without having direct access, or something else?

That could be a new option under Privacy for 1Password to develop I guess - meanwhile, I'm under the impression all data - including metadata - is fully encrypted and partially visible by Admins or 1Password so it would only be disclosing to whomever you shared it with.

I do mention Admins as when you are in Business, the audit log (including access) will be visible (for good reasons) to the admins.
