Finding and removing duplicates in Windows
Is there an easy way to do this? I've searched forums here and online and don't seem to be able to find anything. I have hundreds of duplicates (possibly after migrating from another password manager...

ModeratorThanks for reaching out! If the duplicate items are exactly the same, including the metadata, and in the same vault then you can also use 1Password's Watchtower tool to clean them up:
- Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
- Click on Watchtower in the sidebar.
- Click on Show Items under Items with duplicates.
If you don't see items being flagged here then it means that the items aren't exact duplicates (or they're in different vaults) and you'll need to clean those up manually by making sure that one of the items has all of the information that you need to keep and then deleting the other item.

Hi Dave, to clarify-
I mean I have duplicate entries for the same website. IE, when I navigate to the website I have multiple entries with the same username and different passwords, most of which are incorrect. I want to remove those "extra" passwords for those entries.
When I go to Watchtower I see absolutely nothing that says "Items with duplicates." Nothing at all is there.
If I search for the name of the website, nothing shows up.
So, how can I find and delete these extra passwords?

Thanks for the reply. If Watchtower isn't flagging any duplicates, then you'll need to go through your items manually and clean them up. I recommend that you install the 1Password desktop app if you haven't already since it's easier to organize and edit items there: Get the Apps
In the desktop app, you can sort items by title. When you find multiple Login items for a website, choose which item you'd like to keep and make sure that it has the correct login credentials for the website in question and any other information that you need to keep. Then, delete the other "duplicate" items for the website if you don't need them.
I can see how it would be helpful for this process to be more automated and, while I can't make any promises, I've filed a feature request on your behalf to have our team look into this for the future.

I think the problem is that I imported most of my passwords from Edge password manager, and it did not import the titles of most websites, just the username. So sorting items by title does nothing to aid in finding something specific. And, like I said, even if I search Watchtower for the website's name nothing comes up. I do have the desktop app downloaded.
Is there not a way to delete one of the entries that pop up when I am on the login page of the website in question?

You can delete any items that you don't need using 1Password in the browser:
- Navigate to the website where you're seeing the items that you don't need being suggested.
- Click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar to open the pop-up.
- Click on the item that you don't need in the pop-up.
- Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the item and then click Delete (you might need to scroll down in the list of options to see the Delete option).
