Format for 1Password Company Logos
One subtle improvement that could be made to 1Password, would be to supply stock company logos, by default, that are in a hi-res (i.e. 500 x 500 px) format. The provided logos also need to be PNG's ...

We file a separate update request for each icon you submit and then it will go into review. It would be helpful to submit the icons that need updating vs a bulk folder. Please ensure you include the URL with each icon. Each request is manual and may take time to complete.

Welcome to the community! Just to clarify, are you referring to logos for other websites that show up when you save a Login item in 1Password for those websites:
1Password has a rich icons database that will provide a rich icon for most websites (especially if they're popular). Are the 150 company logos that you've collected for websites that you don't see 1Password automatically provide an icon for?

Hi, Dave,
You had asked for clarification regarding the logos to which I am referring. You are correct in saying that they are the ones for the external websites that one accesses within 1Password.
Now I will check out your rich icons database, but I am afraid that no one is going to get rich mining it - pun intended! No offence intended, but most of the stock icons offered within 1Password do not reflect the same attention to detail and quality as the rest of the app. They either are lo-res, so they look fuzzy on hi-res phones and monitors, or they are woefully out-of-date (i.e. companies do periodically update their logos) or they are formatted improperly. They need to be) to be of a sufficient size ( i.e. 500 x500 pxixels) and be PNGs rather than JPEGs.
A JPEG is simply not going to work well in the dark mode because jpegs do not allow for transparency. If one wants interesting, high-quality icons that work well in both light and dark modes, they are going to have to be formatted as PNG's. Otherwise, we are limited to boring box-shaped icons surrounded by a lot of bright white space, and these icons are an eyesore on a dark background and produce eye strain.
So, to answer your other question, of my roughly 150 icons, many of them are just replacement icons for those that install automatically with 1Password. Others are ones I have had to find or create for myself because they were not available in 1Password.
And yes, I do realize, Dave, that not everyone cares whether the app looks as good as it functions. But there really is no reason that your app can not be both beautiful and functional. And I don't really mind scouting out good icons for it because it is without question, my most frequently used app and the one app that I am most inclined to recommend to friends.

Thank you for the reply. The team always makes the attempt to find the highest quality possible icon to add to the rich icons database that is used to automatically populate icons for items saved in 1Password. Sometimes there are older icons that do need to be updated from time to time.
The team would be happy to take a look and update our rich icons database as needed. Please send an email to support@1Password.com and include the following:
- A link to this thread.
- A list of websites that you've identified as missing icons or showing an outdated icon in 1Password.
After emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and make sure it's gotten to the right place.-Dave

Thanks, Dave, for your reply. I will be happy to follow up with the 1Password Support Team.
Unfortunately, in order to identify the websites that have missing icons or which are showing an outdated icon in 1Password would require a lot of work on my part. First, I would have to strip all of my present icons from every single login entry within 1Password in order to see what icons came from your rich icon database and which ones were provided by me. Then, the matter of determining which icons are outdated, is subject to some level of subjectivity. To me, any icon that is not sized to the maximum size for viewing in 1Password is "outdated." Also, any icon that is not designed to work ideally in both light and dark modes is "outdated." Also, if the choice is between an icon and a picture of the icon within a boring white or black box surrounding it, the latter selection is "outdated."
I am sending some screenshots of just a few of the icons within my own 1Password application to better illustrate why I think that the majority of the icons within your present rich icon database are in need of replacement.
Please advise on how I should proceed. From my perspective, it would just be easier to send a folder of all the replacement icons that I have, and let the team determine which of them it would like to use.
Sincerely,
Ginger Lindsey
