Google Pass Codes popup even though Google Password Manager Disabled

Google Chrome Version 144.0.7559.110 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Windows Build 26200.7623

1Password Chrome Extension Version 8.12.2-22

1Password Version Windows 8.12.1 (81201003)

1Password and Google Chrome aren't working together nicely. Yesterday, when I went to a Microsoft Account website using Chrome to sign in 1Password worked normally. Today when I went to sign in instead of presenting me with 1Password popup at the login id I was presented with a 1Password popup as normal but I am also presented with a list of Passkeys from Google password manager as well. If I click on empty space in the webpage the Google Passkeys go away and I can select the 1Password login if I act quick. If I don't act quickly enough the Google and the 1Password popups go away. When I click on the 1Password icon in the sign on field the 1Password popup appears with a list of logins (which is not unusual as I have multiple MS Accounts), behind the list of Google Passkeys. After a few seconds the 1Password popups all go away and then a few seconds later the Google pupups go away too.

This behavior occurs on any website I need to login on and is not restricted to MS.

What I tried.

1) Verified that Google Password Manger is disabled as well as all Google autofill options and that 1Password was my password manager and autofill provider.

2) Uninstalled the 1Password extension, deleted all the Google data, rebooted reinstalled extension.

3) Uninstalled 1Password app from Windows, uninstalled Chrome, did not uninstall 1Password extension, did not clear browsing data, rebooted, reinstalled 1Password and Chrome. Verified that Google Password manager and all their settings were disabled and that 1Password manager was the password manager and autofill provider.

None of this worked

  • Sorry I forgot one other troubleshooting thing I tried. I toggled off and on and off all of the Google password manager options and then made sure they were all turned off. Stop the browser and then restarted the browser. That obviously didn't work.
