Has anyone gotten 1password to correctly use passkeys in Chrome on Android
I've been using 1password for all my devices for a while. It's great to use in Windows.
In Android, using password autofill is a bit spotty, but it works sometimes.
However, I am never able to get passkeys to work. Google says it couldn't find any passkeys on my device. The problem is the options that it gives are to check other physical devices. It doesn't give an option to check an app (e.g., 1password). I have switched phones from Galaxy Z fold6 to Z Fold7, so part of the reason I wanted to use 1password for passkeys was to avoid the issues with switching phones.
I am vaguely aware that this may be a problem with Android or Chrome rather than with 1password because I don't have the same issue in Windows. But I still wanted to see if anyone had successfully used passkeys in 1password

Hi subversiveasset,
I'm sorry that passkeys have not been working as they should!
We recently updated our instructions for setting up 1Password so that we're in alignment with some changes in Android. Have you already seen those and gone through them just to be sure everything is configured as it should be?
I just did some testing with a Pixel 8 running Android 16 and passkeys worked as expected with Amazon and Home Depot. If there are other sites not working that you can share, I'm happy to check them, too, in case it's a site-specific issue.- subversiveassetNew Contributor
The instructions in the link provided only work for passwords. It doesn't work for passkeys with a Google account. (E.g., in Google, certain sensitive actions require re-verifying.)
I also tried Amazon. It asked for my username, then my password (did not ask for passkey), then asked for my OTP. I was able to fill out all of those with 1password.
Then, AFTER I'm already logged in, there's a screen that appears for a split second that asks about setting up a passkey, then it fails with an error message. (Unfortunately, this only appears on first attempt to log in. I'll try to clear cookies to see if I can replicate.)The passkeys page for Amazon already shows 2 passkeys for 1password but there just is no way to use them on chrome for Android.

Hi subversiveasset,
Thanks for that additional context about situations where you need to re-verify. Could I ask you to email support@1password.com with a link to this discussion thread so you can get into the details of your setup and what you're experiencing? Thank you!
