But Jimmy Hedge Fund doesn't know or care about any of this. He just wants to know, where's his cut of the profits they promised. He doesn't want to hear how those profits are now delayed while they burn through more cash backtracking and doing what they should have known pretty quickly to do.
It's not unlike a loan shark. Your problems are your problems; he wants the money you owe him.
Imagine the meetings where AB discussed all of this, both at the beginning ("but, javascript? Doesn't that open things up for security vulnerabilities?") and ongoing ("um, boss, we can't take that feature out..." etc). Imagine the mental gymnastics needed to justify doing what they did and throwing away what they had, not only from a code base standpoint but from a security, performance, and feature set standpoint.
