1 month agoHow to add an android app to "Passwords" category
I am saving a password for my Secure Folder app on my Samsung Phone which doesn't require a username.
However, when I save it, the "login" category is automatically applied to it, any way that I can change it to the "Passwords" category.
I can't seem to create an item manually with the "Passwords" category since I need to link it to an Android app and not a website.
Any help?
Hi Former Member, thanks for your question.
If you're using an item to sign in or unlock something, a Login item is typically the best choice whether it's just contains a username, a password, a passkey, a PIN or anything else. So, one solution here would be to use a Login item rather than a Password.
If you'd like to use a Password item you may be able to do so from a workaround. For context, the autofill menu that opens after tapping the "Open 1Password" prompt shows items that match the signifier in the field. So, Credit Card items will show if you tap a credit card field, and Login items will show if you tap a login field. You cannot create or search for items in the autofill menu that do not match the field type. The one exception here is that you can search for Password items from a login field. You can try these steps:
- Create a Password item in 1Password.
- Enter your Secure Folder password, then save the item (it may help to name the item something distinct).
- Open the Secure Folder app, tap the password field, then select "Open 1Password".
- Search for and select your password item.
- Select "Always Allow" when prompted.
Let us know if that works for you, and thanks again!

Exactly what I wanted, thank you so much. Also, I don't think changing a category while saving something should require a workaround, hope you will find a way to add this to the app directly.
