Integration with “AutoFill & Passwords” in MacOS
In iOS, it’s super easy to make the 1Password app the default password manager for the whole OS. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be possible to do this on a Mac. Is this feature already availab...

Hello Ben! 👋
Thanks for reaching out! 1Password doesn't use the "AutoFill & Passwords" feature in macOS System Settings so you won't see it listed there. Instead you can save and fill your login credentials using one of the following methods:
- 1Password in the browser: Get to know 1Password in your browser
- Universal Autofill: Use Universal Autofill in apps and browsers on your Mac
I recommend that you turn off the "AutoFill & Passwords" feature in macOS Settings to avoid conflicts and then make sure that the built-in password manager is also turned off in your browser: Turn off the built-in password manager in your browserI can't say whether the "AutoFill & Passwords" feature will be supported in the future but I'll pass along your comments to the team internally that this is something that you'd like to see. Thank you for the feedback!

Universal Autofill does not provide the same function as the integrated MacOS autofill. For instance, I use both Palo Alto Global Protect client and Omnissia Horizon Client (formerly VMware Horizon). Both of these provide the "Password" pop-up. both I've tried to fill using Universal Autofill. I can open Universal Autofill but it won't actually fill.
I would like to see this integration added to the roadmap. As we move more and more to using Passkeys and with the issue I listed above, the only real way to be a complete replacement to Apple Passwords (or whatever Windows integrated password manager is), is for 1Password to move from Universal Autofill to beiing able to integrate and replace the built in vendor solution.
