3 years agoiPadOS 16.1 Watchtower crash [Fixed. Please see the approved answer for details.]
https://1password.community/discussion/comment/676629/#Comment_676629
.
I upgraded my iPad to iPadOS 16.1 today. After I did this, I checked Watchtower. The scores and categories appeared as usual, but when I taped to see details, 1Password crashed back to the iPad home screen. After the crash, 1Password would not restart - it crashed immediately when I attempted to bring up again. Resetting the iPad does not resolve this issue. I can only begin to use 1Password again on my iPad if I uninstall the app and download a fresh copy. I do not experience this on my iPhone, which is running iOS 16.1 too.

1P_Dave Sorry Dave but I only got a reply from 1Password Business ID with NO support number but a list of 20 or so links instead?
Access to this community is also now being restricted by IOS 16.3 UPDATE which I’m trying to pause…. AND each time I login I have to reset my password
EDIT; IOS UPDATE PAUSED and diagnostics sent to mailto:support+forum@1password.com but no response yet. 1P8 just crashed -so will checkout workarounds (Tommy?)Tony

Have you received an email from the team yet? If you haven't then please send a new email to support+forum@1Password.com which will trigger an auto-reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant, with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and make sure it's gotten to the right place.
@foucdan
We haven't yet released a new update for 1Password on the iPad that includes the fix. Have you tried the workaround that my colleague Tommy posted here: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/672364/#Comment_672364

1P has been so reliable for last decade(s) that I foolishly didn’t check this community when I updated my iPad Pro(4th gen) to 16.2 in Dec.
I naively assumed that retaining “backup’s” “emergency keys” and “recovery id’s” over last several decades would allow me to upgrade from 1P7.10 to 1P8 without totally crashing my Home Screen.
Now I can’t find how to backup Or obtain Emergency codes in either 1P71 OR 1P8. !! None of existing sec codes work. While I can currently still access both 1P versions thru user+password I’m left in a dangerous position. Sending Diagnostics on either version has not prompted a Support ID or acknowledgement to date. - 1P_Tommy

@bhbeck
Indeed the issue is specific to the iPad and you should be able to use the feature on the Mac and the iPhone. Have a great weekend.

Thanks Grey. I’ll watch for the update. I did discover that it seems to work ok on my iPhone and Mac.

Hi there @bhbeck
The fix for that issue will be included in the next update to 1Password for iOS. I don't have a solid release date for that at the moment, but you can keep an eye on the App Store listing for 1Password 8, or the 1Password Releases blog:
Please let me know if you have any questions, or would like any further help. :)

@JochenHartmann I'll save you the trouble of waiting for support. Pretty sure this is what they will say " I'm truly sorry for the impact that the issue has had. As Kester mentioned, our developers are working on a fix which we plan to include in a future update as soon as testing is complete. For now, please avoid using Watchtower in the iOS app in order to workaround the issue. You can still use Watchtower on one of your other devices or on 1Password.com"
I'm pretty sure it's a copy/paste thing now with them. Except they add the proper username.
