Latest 1Password version opens web site but does not fill in username or password

Ever since I downloaded the latest version of Password (8.0) on my MACBook Air, when I click on a login, 1Password opens the web site but does not fill in the username or password. I jut downloaded the latest version and am having the same problem. On our iMAC, I have 1 Password version 7 running, and it works just fine. Why does the 1Password "upgrade" not perform?

    Did you download ‎1Password for Safari on the Mac App Store? It is the companion app for 1Password 8. Please open it at least once and follow the directions. Making sure to allow access to all sites. We need that permission to read (save details), write (fill details) on your behalf.
