Mac Touch ID cannot check TID option in settings. Works in Sonoma
During July Touch ID wasn't reliable. It was set for 30-THIRTY days. It was perfect in Sonoma 14.5 and other apps. Not 1pw.
I tried the 3 basic CHAT (intelligence??) options. After adding a 2nd fingerprint the Enable Touch ID option was grayed out.
Restarted Sonoma. No luck.
Updated to 14.6. Nope.
Only ever use APP not Extension.
1Password Version: 8.10.36
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: 14.6
Browser: Firefox/Safari

PS: Yesterday ERASED M3 Air. MA restored. 1PW TID unreliable before erase. After added finger print then TID option locked.

PSS: Also use 1pw on another mac with almost identical setting on 14.5 that was also intermittently unreliable. Added 2nd fingerprint to that the other day. I go back and forth between Macs and sometimes leave 1pw open on both. This was the case this past day! Can just turn TID option off and on that NP.

Hello ClickCardo! 👋
I'm sorry that you're unable to turn on Touch ID for 1Password on your Mac. I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:
Sending Diagnostics Reports (Mac)

.With your email please include:
- A link to this thread: https://1password.community/discussion/147381/mac-touch-id-cannot-check-tid-option-in-settings-works-in-sonoma
- Your forum username:

- Please do not post your diagnostic report to the forum. This is for your privacy and security.
Please send the entire file.
You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks very much!

I'm sorry that you're running into trouble with the diagnostics report. Did you previously deny 1Password access to the Downloads folder on your Mac? Try these steps:
- Click on the Apple logo  in the menu bar then click System Settings.
- Click Privacy & Security.
- Click Files and Folders.
- Click 1Password.
- Make sure that "Downloads Folder" is toggled on.
- Fully quit 1Password and then reopen 1Password.
Then try sending a diagnostics report again: How to send a 1Password diagnostics report
Let me know if you run into any issues.

Related question to system settings you suggestion just remineded me of. I make lots of use of CleanShot screenshot and video recorder utility. It will not work without having screen & system audio recording option set on, but now wondering of security. Any suggestions welcome.

I'm happy that those steps allowed you to generate a diagnostics report. If you don't receive a reply within the next few hours then let me know the Support ID of your ticket and I'll get that chased for you. 🙂

I use CleanShot X as well and find it to be very useful! The
Screen & System Audio Recording
permission seems like a necessary permission for a screenshot utility to have (otherwise it wouldn't be able to generate screenshots) but it does allow it to see everything that you see and hear on your Mac which means that you have to make the decision about whether you trust giving such a permission to any particular app.-Dave

Hi Dave
Never got support ticket (number?) in my e-mail yesterday or so far today. I checked both my old e-mail address and new email address including spam folder. What should I expect?
Sorry Dave, just checked email misaddressed. Just forwarded it now to support+forum@1password.com Please let me know today if received.

I confirm that the team has received your diagnostics report and that my colleague sent you a reply about an hour ago. Please check your inbox.
Since we have a communications channel now open via email, I'll close this thread.
