Manual entries now trying to switch to autofill, please help

Hello,  I started using 1password 7 years ago, but never used autofill.  I just recorded the passwords. Recently, I had to delete my old passwords from Google, Apple Password manager, and a few other places.  I imported them all the to 1password 8 and now have 4 vaults.  The problem is, none of my passwords were configured to the proper websites, so the autofill doesn't work or can't decide which is the correct password.  I was thinking about how to solve this, and I thought about creating a blank vault, and then as i go to each website, create a new password, fill it out properly, and get the correct password from the website, rather than my macos app.  I don't know what else to do.  Any thoughts?

thank you.

Hi silothelegend, thanks for writing in!

There could be a few different ways to tackle updating your items to autofill on the websites you're using. The option I would pursue is adding a website field to my login items with the matching address with this flow:

    1. Visit a website and sign in with my existing credentials.
    2. After signing in, copy the URL.
    3. Open the matching item and select Edit.
    4. Add a website field to the item, then paste in the URL and save.

If you have a lot of items this will take some time to get through all of them, but it will get your most used items ready to autofill quickly. Another option would be to click the "Save in 1Password" prompt from 1Password in the browser to create new items after using your existing credentials, then clear out the duplicates later.

Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks again!
