New to 1Password - Unable to get Yubi key to work
After several tries I got a Yubi key installed. Then I tried to install a backup key. I was unable to get that installed. I kept getting a message saying "Two-Factor Authentication" "Our Family" "Your Changes won't be available on other devices until you verify with your security key." I tried touching the key but nothing happened, took it out and put it back, nothing. I finally turned off 2FA. Looked at support notes, tried to do account recovery. Selected myself, then Begin recovery, got message: "Unable to complete action." "Cannot handle request (110). Error Code 110. What do I do now?

No worries, Brian. I'd be most happy to do that for you. Welcome to the support community and 1Password. Have a great weekend.

Thank you for your patience. Yes, please make the request. I don't have any more questions. Thanks again.

You'll only be prompted for your security key when you add your 1Password account to a new app or browser. You won't be prompted for it when you're just unlocking the app.
No, the YubiKey would not be helpful on your personal device where you have previously accessed 1Password. Currently there is no ability to require YubiKey access on each use of 1Password. It has been requested by folks like yourself. I'd be happy to make the same feature request on your behalf.

I got the Yubi Key thinking it would protect me in case my computer was hacked and my 1Password password and secret key was compromised. They would still have to get passed the Yubi Key. Is that not the case?

It would help prevent some one from accessing your account from a new device or a new browser. Compromised credentials would be avoided. In such situations someone would be unable to access your account data.

Okay, that explains it. I just have one more question. How does Yubi Key give me extra protection if it's not needed to sign in to my account?

Did you just lock 1Password or did you completely remove your account from the app using these steps: Sign out of 1Password

To make a long story short, once I realized that the 2FA would say "turned off" until I tried to install the security keys, I got them installed and everything seemed to be working. I logged off and then back on, it prompted for the key, it worked, all good. This morning, I logged on as usual, without the Yubi Key. Why was I not prompted for the security key?

To help me better understand the situation I'd like to ask you to take a screenshot of what you're seeing and attach it to your reply:
Make sure that nothing sensitive is visible in the screenshot. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have tried a number of times. I click on prompt "turn on two factor authentication," it takes me to that page which tells me that "two factor authentication is turned off."
