Non-password autofill on Android

There are a number of posts regarding the recent autofill changes on Android, but they all seem to focus on password filling. I have found, however, that the autofill experience has become completely broken for non-password forms after the recent updates.

Previously, 1Password would handle filling in the passwords, but when filling out reservations, sign-up forms, or anything else that required personal data or credit card details, I'd usually get them filled via Google Chrome's native autofill. Now, with the new "autofill services" option on Android set to 1Password, Google's autofill gets completely disabled.

In 1Password, I have configured a profile item with my name, address, phone number, and email, as well as a credit card. This seems to work relatively well on my PC, but on Android, I haven't found a single form yet that would be filled correctly!

On half the pages, I don't get the option to fill from 1Password at all, and when I do, it usually only fills the email and sometimes the address. Not the phone number, not the name. With credit cards, it often fills in the CVV code but not the actual card number and cardholder name. All of this used to work completely fine with Google's autofill.

Here are just a few websites I've come across recently:

1. https://uvozrestaurant.cz/en/ (try to book a table) - Google autofill works without issues, 1Password on PC works too, 1Password on Android offers nothing at all

2. https://www.veltlin.cz/en/reservation (another reservation form) - Google OK, 1Password desktop OK, 1Password Android offers nothing

3. https://form.doubleshot.cz/rezervace/muj-salek-kavy/en (yet another reservation form) - Google OK, 1Password desktop OK, 1Password Android offers nothing

4. https://www.nasjonalmuseet.no/en/tickets/entry-tickets/ (museum tickets) - Google OK, 1Password desktop OK, 1Password Android offers just the email, not the name

This is extremely frustrating as it seems that at the moment, I can either have autofill for my accounts, or for personal details (via Google), but not both at the same time. Note that I'm already on the latest beta version of the Android app as suggested in other threads.

  • Hello MaKolarik! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into autofill issues when using 1Password for Android. Since you've mentioned a few different autofill issues, I recommend sending an email to support@1Password.com so that our support team can help further. Please include a link to this thread when you send the email.

After emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and make sure it's gotten to the right place. 🙂

Actually, after resetting the autofill service in Android settings (not just within Chrome), it somewhat works, but the results are still a lot worse than Chrome's native autofill or 1Password on desktop.

With the sites I posted above:

    1. I get the autofill suggestion but half the time nothing gets filled after clicking it. The other half of time, it fills the name and email but not the phone number.
    2. No suggestions at all.
    3. Fills name and email but not the phone.
    4. Fills everything.
