Safari plugin not unlocking

This was addressed in a discussion 4 months ago and hasn't been fixed. 1Password is unlocked but the extension won't unlock. In fact when I click on the icon in the password field nothing happens at all. I have tried unchecking and re-checking the box to integrate it with the 1Password app to no avail. I am running lastest 1P and latest MacOS.

1Password 6 was bullet proof. Then came 7 and 8 with more bugs than a whole case of RAID could possibly exterminate.

    Hello kidsdoc​! 👋

    I'm sorry that 1Password for Safari isn't unlocking on your Mac. As a first step, can you try the following:

    1. Close all open web browsers.
    2. Right-click on the 1Password icon at the top of your Mac's screen and then click Quit. Wait until the icon disappears.
    3. Double-click on 1Password from your Mac's Applications folder.
    4. Open Safari.


    Then, try to fill login credentials into a website. Do you still see the same issue?
