Sharing a vault between Safari and Chrome on a Mac
I'm just moving to 1Password on Mac (15.6). I've installed the App, imported passwords from both LastPass & Mac Passwords, and added the Chrome browser extension.
However when I next added the browser extension to Safari I get a brand new vault with password records created only for tabs that were open in Safari. I can't see any of the password records that are in the vault I already created. I only want 1 vault and I want any passwords added in either browser to be accessible on both browsers (this is the main reason I'm changing from LastPass & Mac Passwords). How to resolve please?
Hello dmalloch! 👋
Welcome to the community! 1Password should show the same items in all of your browsers. It sounds like you might be opening the pop-up which, by default, will only show suggestions for the current tab. If you'd like to see all of your items in the pop-up then you can click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar, click "Suggestions" at the top of the item list, and then select "All Items".
If you'd like to always see all of your items instead of just items relevant to the current tab then you can follow these steps:
- Open your browser.
- Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
- Click Appearance.
- Change "Open 1Password to" to "All Items".
Let me know if that doesn't help.-Dave
