Sorting for search results?

Right now it appears to be random?

Since 1Password does not allow specifying IP ranges, or the ability to "merge" logins, I have 765 separate entries for three subnets worth of hosts:

192.168.0.0/24 + 192.168.1.0/24 + 192.168.2.0/24 which ='s 255 hosts per subnet (since a /24 is .0 - .255. Meaning 192.168.0.0/24 = 192.158.0.0 through 192.168.0.255.)

! [Side note: it sure would be nice to have on entry where website = 192.168.0.0/24 or 192.168.0.0/23]
!

So, in the macOS latest version app I search:

  1. 192.168.1.1 and I get all subnet hosts back.
  2. With double or single quotes = same result.
  3. "192.168.1. " = same result. (Notice the space the end of the search string.)

Additionally, all results come back in apparent random order. No matter what my default sort is for the vault, still random.

How can I do a strict search?

How can I sort the results?

! Admins: Please don't respond to this ticket with something like "We'll think about adding this as a feature." Please just fix it.

Attached files (since inline images are broken for this forum) depict:

1 = Search I use
2 = First results
3 = More results after I scroll //shows the sort issue.

    I had a similar problem and searched forums before asking the same question and I find a lot of posts asking this or related questions, so I hope the 1PW team hears the meta point that they've confused us and will improve the discoverability/usability of search results in the future.

    That said, I found a hint in https://1password.community/discussion/134047/why-has-the-sort-function-been-removed-for-search-results that you can change the sort order from outside search results (the filter icon at the top right of the item list) and whatever sort order applied before starting the search will also apply inside search results, and I found that hint to be helpful.
