Standalone vaults in 1Password 8

Are standalone vaults supported in 1Password 8? Can you import standalone vaults from 1Password 7 without signing up for the online service? Can you create new standalone vaults in 1Password 8?...

So I just read the "What is the future of local/standalone vaults?" post and immediately responded to the poll there, stating I would be most interested in a self-hosting option. I hope it happens!
