The extension on Safari stays locked even when the app is unlocked.
Hi, the 1Password extension on Safari remains locked even if the app is unlocked, and I always have to click on the icon to unlock it (the connection between the app and the extension is regularly active). What can I check?

It’s been a year since this issue was first reported, and I’m still experiencing the exact same problem: the desktop app is unlocked, but the Safari extension remains locked until I manually click the icon. This happens even with the “Integrate with 1Password app” option enabled.
Is there any solution on the horizon, or an update on when this behavior might be fixed?
Thanks.

Hi vidario,
Thanks for showing the misbehavior in a recording.
From your recording, the good news is that the connect status between 1Password for Safari and the 1Password desktop app is still working.
However, I can confirm that there's a known issue where the 1Password for Safari extension doesn't always reflect its unlocked state when integrated with the 1Password desktop app until you attempt to use the extension, which means it requires an extra click on the 1Password for Safari icon to reflect the corresponding lock status from the desktop app. I've added your details to our internal report to help our developers assess a possible improvement in a future update of 1Password.
I'm sorry about the inconvenience and confusion it caused.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I recorded a short video highlighting the issue and the different behavior between Firefox and Safari.

I hope it can be helpful. - vidarioFrequent Contributor
Hi, the other browsers (Chrome and Firefox) work correctly. It seemed to me that I had seen other reports similar to mine, but I couldn't figure out if it was a known issue or random behavior.

Hello, vidario. Thank you for writing in. I'm sorry about the issue you're encountering with 1Password.
First, I recommend checking the steps in this support article: https://support.1password.com/connect-1password-browser-app/#make-sure-1password-and-your-browser-are-up-to-date. If you are still experiencing issues, can you check if the problem occurs in other browsers?
