TRIAL (Family Plan)
I just started to use 1password, I am exploring different companies like Lastpass, Proton, etc...
But I heard 1password already build its trust.
So I started the trial, and the website says it's 28 days trial, which will give me a time to explore different stuffs. I'm also busy for college, fam, and work, that's why I do things slowly, step by step.
When I click to start a trial it only gives 14 days. That's my 1 problem.
The 2nd one is, I am planning to get family plan but the payment would be monthly until I really like it and switch to yearly (to save money).
Now on the trial the only option is to pay by annually, which gives me no choice but to start annually immediately after the trial.
My question is:
1. Is 28 days trial real? it's advertised on the website.
2. After the trial how can I switch to monthly, even if I chose monthly at the first place on trial. But it gives me only yearly options afterwards.
I need answers ASAP, and I really thank you if you'd give time for this question guys!

Hi Nico,
Thanks for giving 1Password a shot as you try some different options!
I appreciate you reporting the contradicting information about the trial length. I was also able to find the page listing a 28 day trial from a google search and it turns out that's from an old promotion and Google wasn't supposed to index it – sorry for the confusion! Take a look at https://1password.com/pricing/password-manager to make sure you're seeing the current pricing and free trial option of 14 days.
You can absolutely switch between monthly and annual any time you like. The process will be a bit different depending on whether you're paying via Apple, Google, or 1Password directly, but it's a simple process regardless. If you know which payment method you'll be using, I can give you more specific instructions.
Let me know if you have any other questions!- NicoNew Contributor
I'm paying via Visa card, on an apple device.

Hi Nico,
Thanks for those details! You have two subscription options, if you're using Apple devices: You can make an in-app purchase in the 1Password app and then your payment will be managed by Apple. Alternatively, you can sign up with 1Password directly.
When creating a 1Password account and subscription, we do suggest that you create the account through our website and not using the Apple App Store. If you start your subscription using an in-app purchase, there are some changes you can’t make to your account on 1Password.com, such as changing your account type or adding additional users to your account. 1Password is also unable to assist with any billing inquiries such as credits, discounts, promotions, and refunds, since it's Apple managing that information.
For those reasons, we always recommend signing up directly with 1Password instead of through a third-party subscription. I highly recommend signing up in a web browser on a computer so you can easily download and save your Emergency Kit, print it off, write down your Password on it, and keep it somewhere safe. This way, you will always have the recovery access, and will be able to easily add your 1Password account to your devices.
Let me know how everything goes and if you have any questions along the way, feel free to ask!
