Today I was on iPad and needed to fill the password field for a server connection in an SFTP client. The auto fill feature of 1Password didn't offer the server when I attempted. Since there is no Universal Autofill on iPad (as far as I'm aware of), I needed to start the 1Password app and copy the password using the clipboard. Not ideal.

  • Hello Lextar! 👋

Thanks for reaching out. Currently, server items can't be filled and I would recommend that you create a separate login item for your server login. That being said, I'll let the team know that you'd like to see the ability to fill server items added to 1Password in the future.

When you tap on the password field in the SFTP client, do you see the "Passwords" prompt appear above your keyboard?

Yes, I see the "Passwords" prompt and used it, but the server item wasn't offered in the list of items.

Thanks for the reply. That confirms that the app is setup to work with AutoFill. If you create a new Login item and store your credentials there then you should be able to fill your credentials that way.

I've filed a feature request to have the team look into make Server item fillable but for now creating a Login item is the best workaround. 🙂
