Universal Autofill not working on Mac apps after update to Version 8.12.21
Universal Autofill has stopped working on my Mac Studio. When I enter ⌘+\, Quick Access comes up, but then when I select an entry it doesn't actually fill. It stopped working after upgrading to ver 8.12.21 this morning. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Hello folks,
Our development team has identified an issue where 1Password's Universal Autofill feature would fail to fill login credentials in certain macOS apps. Our team has identified the cause and has released a fix in the latest version of 1Password for Mac, please follow the step in our guide to update 1Password to the latest version (8.12.21-4):
If you're still unable to fill your login credentials after updating, please create a new post and the team and I will be happy to help further. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we worked to resolve this issue.

Hello timbo2! 👋
I'm sorry that Universal Autofill isn't working to fill your login credentials on your Mac. I've reproduced the same issue on my end and I've filed a bug report with our development team.
At the moment, the best workaround is to manually copy and paste credentials into apps. For Chromium-based browsers, you can install 1Password in the browser, which takes over filling functionality for Universal Autofill and restores filling with Universal Autofill in those browsers.
I'm sorry for the disruption caused and I'll update this thread as soon as we have a fix ready for release.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue and I have to say: I'm genuinely shocked that such a core feature wasn't caught during your QA process before releasing version 8.12.21.
Universal Autofill is not a minor convenience. It's one of the primary reasons many of us pay for this product. Whether its removal was intentional or a regression, I would expect either advance notice or an immediate hotfix. As a paying customer, that's a reasonable expectation.
I reported this bug to support within minutes of the update dropping yesterday. Since then, I've received nothing but an auto-acknowledgment. No status update, no ETA, no workaround. I have to ask: is this the new standard for customer support?
Some concrete questions I'd like answered:
- When will Autofill be restored?
- When can we expect a fixed version?
- Is there a temporary workaround in the meantime?
I'd appreciate a transparent response from the team, not just for me, but for everyone affected by this.

Thanks Dave. Please note I cannot open Mac applications with Universal Autofill as well.
