Using 1PW with apps

I'm not sure how to describe this in order to search for information on it. Hopefully, y'all can help!

I have 1PW7 running on my mac. When I open a desktop app that requires a password, I don't get the key logo in the fillin boxes like I do in Chrome, and when I click on the log up near the clock, 1PW seems clueless as to what I might want. So then I have to search for what I might have called the thing when I saved the PW.

For example, if I go to the app store and I want to download some software, and apple wants my apple id and password, I get the sign in boxes, but nothing filled in and then when I click on 1PW I have to search for "apple".

Is this how it's supposed to work, or am I doing something wrong?

    Hi @ernie_the_cat!

    You are not doing anything wrong :) 1Password can fill on websites in your browser because of the browser extension, but it cannot do the same thing in desktop apps I am afraid.
