WhatsApp - Cannot Save Passkey to Existing Entry
Hi 1Password Support team,
I'm having an issue where I cannot save a passkey for WhatsApp to my existing WhatsApp entry as it's not coming up for some reason. I've tried to modify the entry to have it come up as a choice when saving the passkey but to no avail. To be clear, this happens when on a mobile device.
Environment:
Device: Pixel 9 Pro XL
Android version: Android 16 Beta 3.1
Android build: BP22.250221.013
1Password version: 8.10.70-23.BETA
WhatsApp version: 2.25.8.84
Please let me know if I can provide anything else to help troubleshoot, such as logs, etc.

For those who are wondering:
The item in 1Password was not linked to an app, thus it was not showing up as selectable. I needed to create the passkey in a new 1Password item in case I removed the passkey later on (but the link to the app would remain in the item unless I manually removed it). I migrated my WhatsApp item into this new item (that had the app linked) and all is well.
I requested that a link to an app be added as a feature, but I can understand why they may not allow this (due to security as the app itself calls the password manager to create the link).

I'm sorry that you're unable to save a passkey for Whatsapp using 1Password on your Pixel phone. I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Android device:
Send a diagnostics report (Android)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
