why does my license no longer work? [1Password 7 is retired]

When 1password 7 is opened and a saved item link is hit, a message about subscriptions comes up and the link does not work.

1Password Version: 7.9.6
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: Mac OS 11.0
Browser:_ safari

    Are you by any chance using the Mac App Store version of 1Password 7? That version will only work with a subscription but you can install the website version which is compatible with licenses: Download 1Password 7 for Mac

    If that doesn't work, or if you're already using the website version of 1Password 7, then please send an email to support+tradein@1password.com so that the team can look into this further. 🙂

    I do not want to upgrade to 8, I want to continue using my 7 license purchased in 2020 from the apple store.
    macOS 11.6, safari 15.0.

    How can I continue using my 7 license.

    1Password 8 is now available. 1Password 7 has been retired, and is no longer receiving updates. You can read more about the support available for previous versions here:
