2 years agoWhy no secure notes?
This 1Password is very very unsecure for my needs. I never log it out because I want password manager to log me into my sites that are forums. The problem is there is no way to require password again for specific sites, notes, or credit cards making this the MOST unsecure password manager I have ever used.
Lastpass (no auto lock) - use for general site logins like forums
Secure Notes (requires master password on access)
Credit Cards (requires password on access)
Financial Folder (requires password on access)
Protect Folder (requires password on access) - use this folder for sites that need to be secure like email.
Now this is convenience it protects what I need protected but regular logins that do not need security I am able to just have it log me on.
I am able to set an entire folder that anything in it requires typing in the master password. But 1Password is all or nothing making it very worthless for everyday needs. If I use this password software I would have to run two different password managers one for non protected and one for protected and that is just absurd.

Hi 1P_Gem, Family use like my mother who is 86 years old and starting to lose her memory she can't remember her passwords for her social sites at all like Facebook. Also the visiting nephew and nieces where we have signed them up for sites to play games.
We also had something similar in my old IT job.. for normal logins the password software they used stayed logged in but when we needed to access sites that were really restricted by AD Manager, CDW, Amazon and other critical sites it would prompt for our password. They used a custom software but our standard logins for tools like Service Now would just auto log us in.
So what I would like to see is basically like an unprotected folder anything in there can be accessed. Anything in the secure folder like banks, stores, secure notes all required actually logging into to for security. Sure people say use browser password than but that does not carry over well to multiple devices or locations. This is much how the custom software they used for passwords worked for the IT staff.

Hi @molitar, thanks for taking the time to write in with your feedback!
I understand that you'd like to be able to leave 1Password unlocked for longer to make it more streamlined to use general website logins, while requiring your password again for specific items or folders that need more protection.
Could you tell me a little more about the sorts of situations that would lead you to use this type of option? For example, do you use 1Password where others might see, or regularly leave your device unlocked where someone else might be able to access it?
The reason I'm asking this is to help us to better understand your needs and file a detailed feature request on your behalf. Thanks!
