1P Android: lock delay at close isn't taken into account
Hello there,
(very) long 1P customer with .com account, I am using 1P on a multitude of platforms.
I've recently switched to a new smartphone Samsung S25 under Android 15 (UI 7.0)
My 1P APP for Android is the latest available version 8.11.0 (French language settings)
Under the settings / security / lock mobile app on close (free translation) you can set a delay between "immediately" and "never". Whatever setting I choose there, nothing changes in the behaviour of the app.
I mean that, as soon as I close the app by swiping up its screen, I have to re-use my fingerprint to unlock the application!? As far I understand and if my memory is correct from previous versions, this setting would enable you the re-open the app without the need to re-authentify via fingerprint or whatsoever.
How come that this "delay setting" is not taken into account now? Any assistance is welcome.
Many thanks in advance and best regards,

Hi Didiko! Thanks for your long time support of 1Password.

This sounds like expected behavior. If you close the app by removing it from recents (usually done by swiping up on the app window) you're shutting down the app. In this scenario your unlock method will be required when you next open the app regardless of your lock settings. This would be the equivalent of quitting the 1Password desktop app.
If you don't swipe up on 1Password's app window you can leave it unlocked in the background then switch to the home screen or another app. When you return to 1Password within the set window, your unlock method should not be required. Just to note, if your device restarts, if 1Password is shut down for something like battery saver, or similar, you may still need to re-enter your unlock method before the set time even if you leave it open in the background.
Depending on your security needs, you can also turn off "Lock mobile app when device locks" ("Verrouiller l'application mobile lorsque l'appareil se verrouille" tres concis 😅). With this setting on, 1Password will lock any time your device locks.
