Community Moderation policy
Summary: Add Community guidelines to the Resources drop-down in the header, or replace menu with items relevant to the Community.
After reading email notifications of yet more spam and that the moderators had again quickly removed the posts, I read a one which I anticipated would start a fascinating discussion. Visiting the post on the site, I saw that it was removed.
As much fun as it might be to demand that the moderators defend their callous violation of our inalienable and non-existent right to post whatever we want in a private forum, instead I thought to check the law/rules/policy/guidelines/suggestions... for the Community, confident that of all documentation for the Community, this would be the easiest to find.
From the home page I found nothing in the main body of the page, so checking the menu items in the header, the Resources drop-down was the obvious choice. Of the five items in the drop-down menu, Guides and toolkits and Help and documentation seemed the most likely choices, however neither were related to the Community. In fact none of the Resources on the Community site relate to the Community.
Despite being a drop-down menu, I accidentally clicked on the menu title, Resources, which lead to a page which started with a Community Resources section and includes mostly Community resources including Community Docs - an item not in the menu, but which does not include anything relevant.
Searching the community is a poor and imprecise method to find documentation, but with the right magic words discovered that which I sought: Community Guidelines & Standards.
Despite being enormous, the footer rarely appears in even a large browser window, but at a glance appears to reflect the menu items in the header, supported on each side with some product and company items. On closer inspection, I saw that the Resources section (with this Resources not being linked) includes an extra item at the end: Community guidelines.
Since I would not not be doing the work, a redesign of the header and footer to accurately and consistently present items specifically relevant to the Community, with references to other things such as product and company being relocated and/or clearly delineated would be best. Failing that, at least add Community guidelines to the Resources drop-down menu.
