1Password Passkey Unlock (Production Release)
I understand reasoning for not announcing specific dates. On the other hand, what about realistic long term timeframes (6,12,18, 24 months) 😏 ? Just wishing 🙂 1Password Version: Not Provided Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: Not Provided Browser: Not ProvidedSolved522Views2likes9CommentsPasskey not working on PayPal
I created a Passkey for PayPal today. I thought that I already had one, but it didn't show up when I visited the website. So I attempted to create a new Passkey using my Mac and Safari. For the most part, the setup process seemed to work. Under Manage Passkeys, I could see something like 'macOS Safari'. I closed that popup window, and then I clicked on Manage Passkeys a second time, with the hope of adding a Passkey for my iPhone from this Passkey screen on my Mac. That didn't work. I ended up with two Mac Passkeys for PayPal. So I deleted one of them. Now I see no Passkeys when I visit the PayPal site via a browser on my Mac. I see a Passkey in the 1Password browser popup, but clicking on it does nothing. On my iPhone, in 1Password, I also see that I have a Passkey for PayPal. But when I visit the PayPal site using my iPhone, it says, You removed this passkey from PaPal. Log in another way.' So I deleted the Passkey in 1Password and in PayPal. Then I created a new Passkey. The PayPal site now shows that I have one Passkey, which it labels 'macOS Safari'. I still get no prompt to enter my Passcode in my Mac browser when I try to log in on the PayPal site. I still get the 'You removed this passkey...' message on my iPhone. I've been through most of the steps in this cycle three times. I have deleted everything related to PayPal Passkeys, readded on, restarted my iPhone, and tried two different browsers on my Mac. Nothing has worked to log into PayPal with a Passkey. (I haven't restarted my Mac, because I have been adding to this message as I try different experiments, over the last hour or so.). Do you have any advice? PS. Does 'Passage' mean anything other than this confusingly-named Community Discussion division? On some of your pages, it is implied that the word means more in the 1Password Passkey world, but on other pages, it doesn't.42Views0likes2CommentsWill it be possible to unlock 1Password with just a security key?
Hello, currently we can add a security key, however it is only asked when we connect from a different location, but I would like to be able to connect with my security key at each session, and only with this means or the password (for example, like Touch ID), will this be possible in the future? I'm participating in the public beta for 1Pw with Passkeys using two Yubikeys 5C NFC for login. I have set up several devices where login after biometrical unlock-expiration works flawlessly, although none of them use NFC. When selecting Login with Passkey on my Iphone 13, after Face Id unlock has expired, I get presented with the options "Passkey from another device (scanning QR-Code)" and "Security Key" (which I want to use) as well as "other accounts" (trying to get login from 1PW app which is obviously locked ...). Selecting "Security Key" and holding my key against the NFC-reader, the key is obviously recognized by the device as a notification asks me whether I want to open the "NFC-Tag from 'Firefox'" in Firefox, but the 1PW auth-process isn't affected / doesn't seem to recognize the key, nothing happens here. When I uninstall Firefox, the notification now offers using the NFC-Tag in Safari... I suspect it could be related to the key's OTP-feature. 1Password Version: Not Provided Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: iOS 18.1.1 Browser: Not Provided147Views0likes3CommentsPasskey support
Wha is 1Password doing to get businesses to support passkeys on it's platform? I used the DuckDuckGo privacy browser to login to Lowe's and it only supports a password. Another business that I can't recall was logged in to using Google and the passkey was saved into Google. That does not sound like a unified approach to passkey management nor even an approach where users have a choice. If it were up to me my choice of a password manager would be 1password passkeys to be compatible with DuckDuckGo but not saved in DuckDuckGo but saved with 1Password. It seems like passkeys are not very well managed by providers right now. Am I missing something? I really don't care how passkeys work, just that they work with my DuckDuckGo privacy browser and 1Password. Even the 1Password "passkey helper" has not worked for me because it is Google Chrome, not DuckDuckGo that gets referred to.67Views0likes1CommentAfter a Phone upgrade can't authorize my new device using Chrome.
Steps: I try to use passkey on my iPhone to unlock. get the screen asking to grant access. I follow the instructions logging in to 1Password to the same account in chrome. I get the pop up asking if I want to allow the new device, I click Allow. I get a code. I enter the code in my iPhone. The pop up on my Laptop goes away, but on the Phone I have a message: "That code didn't work. Check your trusted devices for a new one. I go to Pending Devices, click on View, get another pop up. Click on Allow. I get this message: "There is a problem with this enrollment. It will be deleted. Error: The enrollment is in an invalid state. Start the enrollment process again to continue. Hello, I have feedback for improving the recovery code backup process. When creating a recovery code, it asks the user to save a copy of that code in a location of choice. The fact is that if a user doesn't have a copy of the recovery code anymore, the only way to get another copy is to replace the recovery code entirely. In both 1Password website and apps, a user can reveal the secret key and copy as plain text (in 1Password website a user can also download the emergency kit again). While for the recovery code, both in 1Password website and apps a user can only delete it or replace it; in 1Password apps, for example, the recovery code is shown only partially, and it can't be copied to paste in a txt document, just for example. I think that this should be addressed. Thank you. 1Password Version: Not Provided Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: Not Provided Browser: Not Provided189Views0likes7CommentsExporting Vault with Passkey Only Account
Hello, I have been using a passkey-only account for some time but have just realised to export my vault it requires a password, which this account doesn't have. The last post I can see about this was December 2023, have there been any updates on this? 1Password Version: Not Provided Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: Not Provided Browser: Not ProvidedSolved89Views1like1CommentIf I lose my passkey and my trusted devices, can I recover my account?
I'm trying to wrap my head around how the recovery code process works. If I lose both my passkey and access to my trusted devices, can I use the recovery code along with identity verification (email) to regain access to my account? 1Password Version: Not Provided Extension Version: Not Provided OS Version: Not Provided Browser: Not Provided166Views0likes3Comments
