passkeys
154 TopicsHas anyone gotten 1password to correctly use passkeys in Chrome on Android
I've been using 1password for all my devices for a while. It's great to use in Windows. In Android, using password autofill is a bit spotty, but it works sometimes. However, I am never able to get passkeys to work. Google says it couldn't find any passkeys on my device. The problem is the options that it gives are to check other physical devices. It doesn't give an option to check an app (e.g., 1password). I have switched phones from Galaxy Z fold6 to Z Fold7, so part of the reason I wanted to use 1password for passkeys was to avoid the issues with switching phones. I am vaguely aware that this may be a problem with Android or Chrome rather than with 1password because I don't have the same issue in Windows. But I still wanted to see if anyone had successfully used passkeys in 1password16Views0likes0CommentsGoogle's advanced protection
I use 1password and have enabled google's "advanced protection" (https://landing.google.com/intl/en_in/advancedprotection/). I recently attempted to restore my android phone from backup and found it impossible to logon to google without temporarily disabling advanced protection. Note that the restore logon takes place before I have 1password on the device. Google insisted that I use my passkeys which were not on the device. It also had an option to scan a QR code from another device which had the passcode, but I don't know of a way to scan this QR code from 1password. Has 1password thought of supporting this somehow, or is temporarily disabling the advanced protection the preferred solution?13Views0likes0CommentsDoes a website have to be listed in Watchtower for a passkey to work on that site?
I logged on to a website that I use sometimes, and it said I could create a passkey. So, I created it and saved it in 1Password. The next time I logged in, it did not recognize the passkey. So, I checked Watchtower, and did not show the particular website in question.. I thought it was rather curious because the website is one that millions of people use. Anyway, is that simply the way it works? I.e., if Watchtower doesn't list it, then it won't work?6Views0likes0Comments1Password for Android cannot become the default Passkeys Manager and other issues
Google Pixel 8 Pro Android 16 1Password for Android 8.11.6 Today, I decided it was the day to setup Passkeys across the supported website/services. Started 1Password for Android - > Watchtower and selected uber.com. Went to the suggested URL after tapping "Use Passkey". URL went to https://account.uber.com/passkeys. Logged in. Was presented the Passkeys page for Uber. Tapped + Create a passkey. Tapped Create a passkey at the popup dialog. Bam! Google Password Manager pops up asking if I would like to create a passkey to sign in to account.uber.com. Cancelled. I remembered doing this already so I went to the following places to check settings. Chrome -> ... -> Settings -> Google Password Manager -> Settings. Checked the following; Offer to save passwords (disabled), Automatically create a passkey to sign in faster (disabled), Auto sign-in (disabled). Chrome -> ... -> Settings -> Autofill Services. Checked Autofill using another service (Enabled). Tapped Android Settings and this is the 3rd place I check next. Alternatively, I can get to it by navigating as per point 3. Android Home Screen -> Settings -> Passwords, passkeys and accounts -> 1Password (Preferred service) - Enabled. Additional services: Microsoft Authenticator (disabled), Google (disabled). Can you put in checks in place please so this doesn't happen? If Google is doing something naughty, can you please work with them to resolve this? Please? Besides this, my experience on Android has been a mixed bag. Some login prompts, 1Password will have no issues popping up offering to autofill. But the MAJORITY of apps and websites, 1Password Autofill simply doesn't do enough. I have to jump back and forth to copy and paste passwords. Please let me know how I can help you folks resolve this.21Views0likes0Commentsunable to sign in to google accounts with passkey on waterfox browser
Hi, I'm using Waterfox as my browser on Android, and I'm unable to sign in to my Google accounts using the built in passkey interface. Screenshot attached. There does not seem to be any obvious way to correct this, does anyone know what I'm missing?33Views0likes1CommentDisable "sign in with passkey" popup
I want to TOGGLE on and off the "sign in with passkey" popup. I'm on a Mac in Chrome. I looked at various threads on this forum and they're really confusing. I looked in my 1pw browser extension options but couldn't find an option to turn off the "sign in with passkey" popup. Here's what my Autofill settings look like:Solved67Views0likes5CommentsiOS Passkey authentication request does not present correct passkey when provided with credentialId
We have an application at keys.coinbase.com that allows for webauthn registration and attestation with passkeys. A user can create a passkey and authenticate with that passkey. A user can also have multiple passkeys. After a recent iOS update, when a user has multiple registered passkeys for our Relying Party Domain (keys.coinbase.com) whose passkey names are identical (i.e. "Smart Wallet"), 1Password fails to request authentication for a specific one of the identical passkeys even an allowed credential is passed to the authentication function. For instance: Passkey 1 Name: "Smart Wallet" CredentialID: "123abc" Passkey 2 Name: "Smart Wallet" CredentialID: "456def" If both credentials exist and I try to authenticate specifically with Passkey 1 by providing the credentialId "123abc" to the authorization request, 1Password fails to display the appropriate credential. Instead, I see cross-platform prompts and an option to choose a 1Password credential from a subsequent tray (see screenshot). You can reproduce this issue on an iOS device with the latest version of 1Pass iOS by: 1. Go to https://coinbase.github.io/coinbase-wallet-sdk/ 2. Under "Wallet connection" > "eth_requestAccounts" > press Submit 3. Popup opens to "Sign in with Base" > Select "Create account" 4. Do not enter a "Passkey name" > Press "Continue" 5. Save passkey to 1Pass iOS by pressing "Continue" on the "Create a passkey?" system tray 6. In 1Pass UI tray that pops up, make sure you select to "Create new item for..." and press "Save" 7. Once you've saved the passkey, you will automatically land back on https://coinbase.github.io/coinbase-wallet-sdk/ 8. Scroll down to "Sign Message" section > "Personal Sign" > Press "Example Message" 9. A popup will open and ask you to sign an Example message, press "Sign" 10. Passkey authentication tray opens and suggests correct passkey, but DO NOT CONTINUE. Just note that 1Pass presented the correct passkey to sign with. 11. Now, close the passkey prompt with signing 12. In the top right corner of the page open (keys.coinbase.com), press the settings "gear" icon > Scroll down > Press "Sign out" 13. Popup closes and https://coinbase.github.io/coinbase-wallet-sdk/ warns you that your wallet was disconnected > Press "Yes" 14. Repeat steps 2 - 9 15. Passkey authentication tray opens and suggests cross-platform options with 1Pass listed at the bottom, but it does not offer a preselected passkey based on the credentialId. This is the bug.47Views0likes3CommentsCan a passkey be hacked and exported?
Simple question, but hard to find an answer, if a hacker can have access to my computer and also has my 1password password, I know he can export all my passwords and other data, but how about passkeys? 1Password says the we can't export passkeys and import into other password managers, but could a hacker do it? I know that in this situation the hacker could use my computer to change or disble my passkeys, but another type of attack would be clone my passkeys and get silent access to my accounts. This is totally different than change/disable as I would notice. Thanks19Views0likes0Comments
