vault management
258 TopicsLinked Items instead of duplicates
I have several family members and several vaults. I'd like to "link" an item from my vault (like a personal credit card) into my family vault or my daughters vault. So they see the item (read-only) but it's a linked copy. So if I update my credit card information then all the linked copies immediately see the change. No need to delete and re-duplicate. Is this possible?4Views0likes0CommentsWatchtower Not Finding All Duplicates
I've been cleaning up my 1Password on my MacBook Pro.... I have an old vault with about 40 entries I wanted to remove, as long as I was sure I have them in my main vault. I moved those entries to my main vault and used Watchtower to identify duplicates so I could remove them. It found those I'd moved and I removed them. But then I stumbled on the fact that there are a lot of duplicates in my main vault that Watchtower does not identify as duplicates. They appear to be true duplicates - all entry info is the same and the "Last edited" time stamp is exactly the same. And yet Watchtower did not identify them as duplicates. Any idea why Watchtower isn't finding all duplicates and if there is anything I can do? Thanks very much!!4Views0likes0CommentsDomain Migration/Merge
I am not sure if there was an option, may of the settings became unavailable once 1P was connected to an IDP(Rippling). 1- We are rebranding and migrating from domain W to domain A, is there a way to rename users from user @ w.com to user @ a.org while keeping their access and accounts? 2-I've also seen a few users having both a.org and w.com accounts, is there a way to merge the two under a.org? 3-When a user is offboarded they may have passwords not saved in a shared vault, I would manually login as the user to access those. Is there an admin tool/function to transfer those vault items to their manager? Thanks!7Views0likes0CommentsSupport for Imput's Helium Browser
Hiya! I'm an avid 1Password user and I utilize every possible corner of it. BUT there's a certain issue that I'm facing when I'm using it with unsupported browsers. Mainly, Helium Browser (https://github.com/imputnet/helium) which includes unbiased privacy at no compromise to webpage functionality isn't supported. This is an issue because there's no other browser I'd use. The problems that arise are apparent on all platforms, like: Manual addition in the 1Password app on macOS (which, lately, seems to spaz out when using it with the extension) Inability to use with the system app on Windows which inconveniences users by making them log into their vault twice (which, if I guarantee, many have a complex password for and can't bore themselves typing it out multiple times per session) Broken behaviour on Linux, where even with the custom browser config it still can't unlock the vault if it's unlocked on the system. No, I wasn't running the Flatpak version. IMHO 1Password is better than the competition in terms of UX, but seeing my daily driver struggle with that with no way to fix without resorting to this is awful.835Views3likes5Comments1Password can't open your saved data - Desktop (Windows)
Hello! Does anyone know what could be the cause of this? Error message: 1Password can't open your saved data, however, your data is still safe in your account. Contact support@1password.com for help Desktop Windows version running on 8.12.10.019Views0likes1CommentOld Tags Reappeared
1password for Mac version: 8.12.10, MacOS 16.4.1 Opened 1password on MacOS today, and suddenly about 20 tags that I had previously deleted reappeared (each showing "You dont have any items with this tag". No entries seem to have been lost or corrupted (as far as I can tell), but it's pretty worrying having something like this happen. Is this a known issue? The tags have also reappeared on my other devices (iPhone etc).80Views0likes8CommentsMerge items with one-time passwords and passkeys
I have multiple Password items for the same account and would like to be able to merge them into one item. I know you can copy and paste user names, passwords and URLs but what about one-time passwords and passkeys? For example, I have one item with a passkey and a separate item with a one-time password. They are both for the same login ID, password and addresses. I would like to be able to merge these two items together but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do it.Solved26Views0likes3CommentsFeature Request: Display Vault Name on Each Item
Hi 1Password Team, I’d love to suggest a small but very helpful UI improvement: showing the vault name as a subtle label on each login item (for example, in the top-right corner of the item view). When managing multiple vaults, it can become unclear which item belongs to which vault—especially when reviewing or moving logins, passwords, or other entries between vaults, collections, or folders. Having the vault name visible at a glance would make organization and bulk management much faster and less error-prone. A lightweight, unobtrusive label would be enough, just something consistently visible without needing extra clicks. Thanks for considering this improvement!34Views1like1CommentFeature Feedback: UI Overlap Issue & More Flexible Secret Sharing Controls
Dear 1Password Team, I would like to share several feedback points regarding usability and flexibility within the 1Password Windows desktop application and its secret sharing feature. First, I noticed a UI issue in the Windows desktop app where the "New Item" button appears overlapped by the window’s minimize control. This creates a confusing visual layout and may affect usability, particularly when navigating quickly. It would be helpful if this overlap could be reviewed and adjusted to ensure consistent spacing and clarity across window sizes or display scaling settings. Second, regarding the secret sharing feature, I would appreciate more flexibility in configuring expiration and viewing limitations: * Custom link expiration duration Currently, the available options for "Link expires after" are limited to fixed presets (1 hour, 1 day, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days). In practical scenarios, more granular control would be very useful — for example: - 30 minutes - 90 minutes - 21 days - any custom duration defined by the user While this may seem like a small enhancement, it would significantly improve usability in real-world workflows where precise timing matters. * Custom number of allowed views At present, the viewing limitation only allows either: - unlimited views - or exactly 1 view It would be very helpful if users could specify custom limits (e.g., 2 views, 3 views, 5 views, etc.), especially when sharing secrets with small teams or temporary collaborators. * Selective field sharing Another improvement that would greatly enhance security flexibility is the ability to choose which fields within an item are shared. For example, in my case, I may want to share GitLab credentials (username and password) but exclude attached files such as recovery codes. Currently, sharing an item also shares all attachments, which may expose sensitive backup data unintentionally. Overall, these enhancements would improve both usability and security control, especially for users who rely on 1Password for professional workflows and credential sharing. Thank you for continuously improving the product, and I hope these suggestions are helpful for future updates. Best regards,18Views0likes0CommentsDocuments can not be shared
Starting yesterday I can not share items that include files or documents. When I try to get a link to share the item I get an error like the one in the screenshot (Documents can't be shared. To share a Document, you'll need to use a shared vault. Notice that my goal is to be able to share this document with people outside my team so using a shared vault as suggested is not an option. Sharing documents worked just fine up until yesterday when I started seeing this error. I'm using a Business plan and I have confirmed document and attachment sharing is allowed in our policies.35Views0likes1Comment
