276 TopicsExperiment #4 – New interface in 1Password.com’s vault view
Hi Folks! Today we’re bringing you a beta version of a major update to the vault item view interface on 1Password.com. Our goal is to align the design with the main desktop application as well as improve our ability to introduce new features consistently across all of our platforms. Unlike previous experimental features in labs, you are not required to manually enable this experiment, and it will not appear under the “Labs” tab in the 1Password apps. As this is an updated vault item view of our web interface, you can access it directly via this link. At this time, the new interface provides a read-only version, which means it is limited in functionality compared to the current interface. We wanted to start testing as early as possible to identify any potential issues well in advance of a full rollout. Full functionality that aligns with the current vault item view interface will be gradually introduced over the next couple of months as we continue testing and developing. The primary questions I'm trying to answer are: 1. Do you prefer this new interface over the old one? 2. Do you see value in us rolling out this new interface of the vault item view to all 1Password users? 3. Are you experiencing any performance issues? 4. How often do you use the vault item view in 1Password.com? We are eager to hear what you think about this new web interface. Please share your feedback and thoughts below in the thread! Updates Jun 20 Added Watchtower Added a link to the admin dashboard from the vaults menu Added "What's New" to the help menu, which links to our new release notes page Added vaults in quick find results Improved performance when loading an account with many vaults May 16 Added ability to share items Added item sharing history Recently Deleted now limits deleted items to the last 30 days May 2 Added support for viewing item history Apr 15 Added support for creating and editing items Added categories back to the sidebar Feb 15 Fixed part of the issue firebeyer mentioned with custom item categories. Right now all custom categories will be grouped together under "Others", and we'll be fully supporting active custom categories soon. Group and sort categories in the item list filter menu to match the desktop apps. Feb 6 Began supporting localization for the 12 languages already supported in the rest of the web app and other apps. There are some tasks remaining there. Maintain the last item list sort order throughout the app and across page reload. Show an alert popup when encountering unexpected errors, to hopefully avoid just showing a blank screen like norysang reported. Squashed some minor bugs.50KViews19likes530CommentsNew business account, existing family account. How to proceed?
Hi, I have been using 1Password for several years now, very happy with it. I am on a Family plan with my wife and two daughters. Now my employer decided to start a 1Password business account and I received an invitation mail on my work email address. Can anyone point me to an article on how to proceed? I want to keep my personal passwords apart from my business passwords (now in a separate vault in my personal account) and I want to make sure that my family can keep on using 1Password, including the passwords shared between us. Furthermore, it would be ideal that I don't have to switch all the time between my two accounts if I want to access a certain site. I don't seem to find the best way to go forward. At this point, I have not yet activated my business account. Any help greatly appreciated! MarkSolved1.6KViews0likes3CommentsSupport for Imput's Helium Browser
Hiya! I'm an avid 1Password user and I utilize every possible corner of it. BUT there's a certain issue that I'm facing when I'm using it with unsupported browsers. Mainly, Helium Browser (https://github.com/imputnet/helium) which includes unbiased privacy at no compromise to webpage functionality isn't supported. This is an issue because there's no other browser I'd use. The problems that arise are apparent on all platforms, like: Manual addition in the 1Password app on macOS (which, lately, seems to spaz out when using it with the extension) Inability to use with the system app on Windows which inconveniences users by making them log into their vault twice (which, if I guarantee, many have a complex password for and can't bore themselves typing it out multiple times per session) Broken behaviour on Linux, where even with the custom browser config it still can't unlock the vault if it's unlocked on the system. No, I wasn't running the Flatpak version. IMHO 1Password is better than the competition in terms of UX, but seeing my daily driver struggle with that with no way to fix without resorting to this is awful.1.4KViews3likes6CommentsEmployee Vaults - Access?
Hello all, our business environment requires that all passwords should be visible and reclaimable in the event that the employee leaves. This is fine with a shared vault, as other users have access as they may share them, or for redundancy. However we have a particular team where a shared vault isn't suitable, as each user has their own access to certain data. So in this case the Employee vault would be perfect. Except that I'm almost certain that these vaults can't be accessed by Overwatch roles, like Administrators or Owners, even though I've seen language on various docs from 1password that users with the right permissions can access them. Problem is I can't find these permissions to enable them to be visible when needed. What do you suggest is the best solution for this? Accounts are locked to business email addresses but reclaiming an account just because someone is on holiday and something important is stored in the Employee Vault sounds excessive...Solved1KViews0likes2CommentsSharing vault with another, existing 1Password user
I have a family account that I share with my wife and two kids. I convinced my sister to buy her own account, and she has a personal account. My sister and I need to share a vault that contains information about our aging parents. I can invite my system as a guest by email, but your invitation appears to try to set up a new account for sister. She doesn't want a new or different account; she wants to keep her account and all her vaults, but we want to be able to share a between brother and sister. How do I do this?Solved1KViews0likes7CommentsSharing with other 1Password users
I've just made the move from a Family plan on Lastpass to 1P. This is after a divorce, and we're still untangling all our shared accounts. I currently just have a personal 1P account. I've organized the remaining shared passwords that either the whole family needs to access (ie, Netflix, Hulu, etc) or that need to be shared just between me and my ex in vaults. If my ex gets her own 1P account, can I share a vault with her and have it show up in her 1P account? Or, does that require me to upgrade to the family plan and be the nice guy and let her have an account?Solved999Views0likes3CommentsNested folders in department vaults
The issue I am having is that we save a very large number of credentails and details in 1password, and currently, I am creating vaults with names of the department and a subsection name as part of the vault name As an example for illustration only: for HR, I have a vault called HR-References, another vault called HR-AnnualLeave, and another called HR-Attendance But this means we end up with a massively long list of vaults. It would be much much better if we could have nested vaults, or even folder to contains to store all the different sets of data in an organised manner under the one parent vault. so ideally we would have a vault called HR, and then within that vault, either subvaults, or folders/containers that could contain specific items by topic Hope this makes sense. I have rather large Bitwarden vault with 1500 entries, mostly logins but also secure notes, serials and credit card informations. Many use additional custom fields. When I follow the instructions and export the Bitwarden native, PBKDF2 encrypted JSON and use it to import online I just get an error without any details whats going wrong. If I use CSV it's a lot of manual work as a) there is no way to use a column to tell the importer what kind of entry it is and b) I can only import all fields into a single custom field and then manually have to recreate them. Pretty painful. Is there any other way I can script an import not losing custom fields? Or better, can the Bitwarden import just be fixed ;)900Views2likes9CommentsArchiving all items in a vault
A long time ago, I started putting items that I didn't need anymore into a vault that I called "Graveyard" because, if I remember correctly, at that time it wasn't possible to search in the Archive. When I saw that Search was possible in the Archive I moved all the items in "Graveyard" to it. But when I tried to delete the "Graveyard" vault, a message told me that if I did this, all the archived items from that vault would be deleted too. So I didn't delete the vault. Is there any way to get rid of this unused vault but keep the items in the Archive?Solved899Views0likes7CommentsCreating a new family member's vault and password?
I have three family members, one of them had an individual account that I want to migrate into the family account. I signed into the family account on the family members computer. I created a new vault in the family account and moved their passwords to the new vault I selected the new vault as the default vault to use But when I log out and back in, 1P wants the family vaults password? I would like to family member to use there own password, preferably the one they were using before I migrated? The tutorial mentions the family member getting an email with confirmation of the move and a new secret key, but that never happened, so I did something wrong. Been at it for over an hour and would love to get this sorted as the family member uses their 1P during the work week (today is Sunday) TIA Henry800Views1like4Comments
