vault management
184 TopicsNew business account, existing family account. How to proceed?
Hi, I have been using 1Password for several years now, very happy with it. I am on a Family plan with my wife and two daughters. Now my employer decided to start a 1Password business account and I received an invitation mail on my work email address. Can anyone point me to an article on how to proceed? I want to keep my personal passwords apart from my business passwords (now in a separate vault in my personal account) and I want to make sure that my family can keep on using 1Password, including the passwords shared between us. Furthermore, it would be ideal that I don't have to switch all the time between my two accounts if I want to access a certain site. I don't seem to find the best way to go forward. At this point, I have not yet activated my business account. Any help greatly appreciated! MarkSolved800Views0likes3CommentsSharing with other 1Password users
I've just made the move from a Family plan on Lastpass to 1P. This is after a divorce, and we're still untangling all our shared accounts. I currently just have a personal 1P account. I've organized the remaining shared passwords that either the whole family needs to access (ie, Netflix, Hulu, etc) or that need to be shared just between me and my ex in vaults. If my ex gets her own 1P account, can I share a vault with her and have it show up in her 1P account? Or, does that require me to upgrade to the family plan and be the nice guy and let her have an account?Solved600Views0likes3CommentsArchiving all items in a vault
A long time ago, I started putting items that I didn't need anymore into a vault that I called "Graveyard" because, if I remember correctly, at that time it wasn't possible to search in the Archive. When I saw that Search was possible in the Archive I moved all the items in "Graveyard" to it. But when I tried to delete the "Graveyard" vault, a message told me that if I did this, all the archived items from that vault would be deleted too. So I didn't delete the vault. Is there any way to get rid of this unused vault but keep the items in the Archive?Solved474Views0likes7CommentsPricing for 1Password Connect
I'm thinking of registering secret information such as tokens in 1Password and using it via the 1Password Connect server. When I look at https://developer.1password.com/docs/secrets-automation/, there is no mention of any costs involved in using it, but when I look at articles about usage by other companies (https://dev.classmethod.jp/articles/1password-secrets-automation/), it seems like there is a usage fee. When I search, I find articles like "1Password Connect server pricing<https://developer.1password.com/docs/connect/pricing/>", but when I actually click on it, it takes me to a different article, so I'm not sure. Could you please tell me about the pricing structure for using 1Password Connect? Thank youSolved423Views0likes1CommentEmployee Vaults - Access?
Hello all, our business environment requires that all passwords should be visible and reclaimable in the event that the employee leaves. This is fine with a shared vault, as other users have access as they may share them, or for redundancy. However we have a particular team where a shared vault isn't suitable, as each user has their own access to certain data. So in this case the Employee vault would be perfect. Except that I'm almost certain that these vaults can't be accessed by Overwatch roles, like Administrators or Owners, even though I've seen language on various docs from 1password that users with the right permissions can access them. Problem is I can't find these permissions to enable them to be visible when needed. What do you suggest is the best solution for this? Accounts are locked to business email addresses but reclaiming an account just because someone is on holiday and something important is stored in the Employee Vault sounds excessive...400Views0likes1CommentSharing vault with another, existing 1Password user
I have a family account that I share with my wife and two kids. I convinced my sister to buy her own account, and she has a personal account. My sister and I need to share a vault that contains information about our aging parents. I can invite my system as a guest by email, but your invitation appears to try to set up a new account for sister. She doesn't want a new or different account; she wants to keep her account and all her vaults, but we want to be able to share a between brother and sister. How do I do this?Solved399Views0likes4CommentsShare Vaults across accounts [Feature request]
I have a family account that I share with my wife and two kids. My sister (let's caller Alice) has a personal account. I have a friend (let's call him Bob) who has a personal account. Let's call me Charlie. My parents are aging and my sister and I have access to their bank account and are setting up automatic bill pay. I would like to create a vault that Charlie and Alice can both see and edit that contains information about our parents. I know that Charlie can invite Alice to become a member of the Charlie family plan and thereby give access to Alice, but in order to do that Alice must export all her current entries from Alice's-personal-account and then import them into Alice's-account-in-Charlie's-Family. That's a hassle, and it also means that if Alice later marries and starts her own Family account, she'll lose access her parents' information housed in Charlie's Account's vault. Charlie and Bob play squash and use SignUpGenius and a Gmail account to manage a Sunday doubles squash match with invitations that go out weekly to 50 players. Bob travels a bit, and so does Charlie and they switch off the weekly duties of managing the interaction with SignUpGenius and Gmail. Each has their own 1Password account, both have shared the SignUpGenius and Gmail credentials with each other, but both would like to be able to amend them. Neither wants to be a member of the other's "family" for the purposes of 1Password, but they both want read/write access to the shared credentials. Request: please allow Vault sharing across paid 1Password accounts. The sharing should allow transfer of ownership of the Vault from account A to B, from B to C, and from C back to A. The sharing should allow the owner (A) to share with many people (each with their own paid accounts) B, C, D...etc. and should allow A to manage which parties can read, write, etc. the details in the shared vault.Solved396Views1like11CommentsImporting from Bitwarden fails
I have rather large Bitwarden vault with 1500 entries, mostly logins but also secure notes, serials and credit card informations. Many use additional custom fields. When I follow the instructions and export the Bitwarden native, PBKDF2 encrypted JSON and use it to import online I just get an error without any details whats going wrong. If I use CSV it's a lot of manual work as a) there is no way to use a column to tell the importer what kind of entry it is and b) I can only import all fields into a single custom field and then manually have to recreate them. Pretty painful. Is there any other way I can script an import not losing custom fields? Or better, can the Bitwarden import just be fixed ;)369Views1like9CommentsSetup for family sharing computer
Background: My wife and I share a desktop and a laptop PC. We use the same windows logon on both. We have separate email accounts. We have a 1Password family. During the trial period and before creating my wife’s vault, I installed the PC version on both computers and installed the browser extension for Foxfire. After importing my passwords, we established my wife’s vault. When we logon to 1Password online we can choose whose vault we want to logon to. The Problem: The PC version and the browser extensions are linked to my vault. I have not been able to discover a way to get either of them to offer a choice of whose vault we want to logon to. Is there a setting I am missing? Or do I need to setup separate user accounts on each PC? If the latter, will we still be able to use the same browser? I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.Solved347Views0likes10CommentsRegenerate Secret Key - Did Not Create Emergency Kit - Offline Mode
On a Windows 11 PC, I started to regenerate a secret key. I pressed the regenerate key and I expected to see a web page to create the emergency kit for printing and then safe storage. After pressing the regenerate key, a webpage appeared asking me to insert the new secret key and the master password. I had no opportunity to copy the secret key. Now I am unable to access my 1Password account. This is a serious problem. Any ideas on how to recover my account? I have 1Passwords on multiple devices including another Windows 11 PC and an iPhone. When I try to login from the iPhone it says "offline mode." I do not want to mess with 1Password on the iPhone. I do not want to lose any chance of recovery. Anyone know what offline mode means? Thanks.325Views0likes12Comments
