I've figured out how to generate a password in the Windows 11 app and the Firefox extension for the same operating system. I also found the option to set the generation method as a default. What I don't understand is, if I set the default, will that be for all web sites, or just the one I'm working on when I choose the default option? What I would like would be an ability to set a series of defaults for all websites: Smart, if 1Password knows the rules for the website Memorable Password otherwiseSolved14Views0likes2Comments1Password fails to provide applicable password for some well known sites with requirements
I have commented / started a discussion in the past but it is now becoming a regular affair for me to correct the password created by 1Password as it simply not able to generate the password as per a website's requirement. Check for instance VFS Global (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VFS_Global) website (this is one of the most well known passport administration outsourcing companies for governments and diplomatic missions) Basically this website helps you apply for a visa for e.g. Schengen Visa from your home country to Europe. If I try to register it has a strict requirement for a password for e.g. (https://visa.vfsglobal.com/gbr/en/nld/register) The "smart" suggestion is completely wrong and I have to constantly refresh to achieve the desired format. At one point I simply give up and just replace the invalid symbol and add one of the approved ones. Same is the case for another well known website TLS Contact Now, I do not want to get into a discussion that the password randomness or security will be a concern as mentioned in the replies from Request for a powerful pasword generator. | 1Password Community 1Password Password Suggestions could be better | 1Password Community https://old.reddit.com/r/1Password/comments/1bocryy/1password_feature_missing_or_am_i_missing_the/kwt1apq/ The reply from reddit by one of the employees of 1Password quotes This can sound unintuitive, but a 25-character random password with no restrictions on its composition is stronger and harder to crack than a 25-character password where 6 of those characters must be digits and 4 must be symbols. I agree on this but stronger and harder is really subjective. Literally 15-character passwords even with requirements are already strong and hard take for instance the below password generated from Roboform (I really like the idea how Roboform has done, where user provides which symbols to include) This is the strength of the above password Notice there are 2 symbols, surely if I replace one char with a symbol it will greatly improve. Now, if I now use 1Password and generate a 15-character password Below is its strength Agreed 2 Billion (Roboform's 2 symbol) <<<<< 4 trillion (1Password's 3 symbol) but surely both these passwords are STRONG and HARD enough to crack. I am confident that many users (including myself) can live with password with 2 billion years to crack if their password manager is able to generate the password as restricted by a website and avoid spending tedious time getting the password right. All I am suggesting is have an option to select some symbols(similar to roboform) like the ones applicable and have the password generate for me. It should be an optional requirement where if user selects this feature then it mandatory for the user to provide the symbols they want and then password be generated accordingly.37Views0likes1CommentAbility to create custom item types?
Recent refugee from LastPass, and so far 1P is an immeasurably better experience (also, many fewer data leaks - low bar but...). The one thing I miss from LP so far is the ability to have custom item types. The specific case I'm looking at is a health insurance card, which has name, policy number, group number, prescription coverage info, etc., which doesn't quite match up with any of the existing ones. I know I can add add new fields, but it would be great to have the ability to create new item types with the same fields. And, where this approach really comes up short is in the inability to customize what shows up in the preview (similar to how credit cards have the preview line of "nnnn **** nnnn" right below the item name. For a health insurance card, for instance, it would be awesome to be able to specify that the ID number should show up there. I've seen this mentioned in some old posts here, on Reddit, etc., but haven't seen a resolution. Any ideas? If it matters I'm on the individual plan. 1Password Version: 8.10.0 Extension Version: 2.7.0 OS Version: Windows 11 Browser:_ Chrome577Views0likes2CommentsQuestions regarding spyware and protecting my account
I have been having chrome and think or swim crashes. May be due to high ram utilzation of 92% (I have 16GB Ram) so Dell gave me a tuneup and found Spyware (no details). If they have my vault password, can't they just go to 1password.com, logon (assuming they know my email address) and login to all my passwords? Ahah I just tried using a different browser to login and it required my secret key (thats cool). So is that the safeguard? Even if Spyware got my vault password (I will change it now) if they were no longer in my PC they couldn't get in? Is there a chance they grabbed my passwords from in the vault? I got rid of McAfee 2 weeks ago and Windows Defender came immediately on. Assuming McAfee didn't miss it why wouldn't Windows Defender have caught it? I also scanned with Malwarebytes 2 weeks ago and it was clean. Also watchtower didn't catch it.15Views0likes1CommentLogin Options Prompt covers website / OS info
Hello all, I am writing to suggest a possible feature request / tweak. I currently use 1password on Mac, iphone, and windows 11 and all of them work really well to bounce between multiple apps at a time but I do have a slight issue. Sometimes when clicking the 1password icon inside of a password entry box, it covers other information that auto populates base on the OS or website. For example, apple will attempt to auto populate authentication numbers (txt sms) or some sites reveal certain information as a drop down graphic after clicking inside of the box but 1password can sometimes cover up this information. I guess what I am asking is, is it possible to offset where the password box shows up when selecting a log in from your vault? Like off to the right or left instead of directly under the entry box? I have attached a screenshot. Sorry if this has already been mentioned.17Views0likes2Comments"Received <BrowserVerificationFailed> from the native core" since most recent Update
Hi, since the most recent release of 1Password's Chrome Extension (2.12.0 and newer) my Extension is unable to connect to the desktop App, ONLY from the Chrome Portable I use. My "normal" Chrome installation (both are Version 114.0.5735.199 (Official Build) (64-bit)) works fine, still. For debugging sake, I also tried changing to the BETA Channel of the extension build, same result though. Could this be looked into, and fixed, please? 1Password Version: 1Password for Windows 8.10.9 (81009012) Extension Version: 1Password in the browser 2.12.0 (2.13.0 as well) OS Version: Windows 10 22H2 19045.3155 Browser: Chrome Portable436Views0likes17CommentsAutoFill/Suggestions not working on iframes within pages
Hi, I got an Issue with AutoFill, as well as even getting suggestions for Login fields on a page that is iframed on another page (eventhough both the hosting page's URL as well as the iframe URL are set as URLs for the Login-Object within 1PW...) URL of the main page: https://wild-hair-berlin.de/ (my Hairdresser .. ) URL of the iFrame: https://www.time-globe-crs.de/crs-online-5054/ (Picture of the iFrame on the main page: (need to click it once (for data privacy reasons...), to actually load the iframe and see the form...) "Sometimes", Autofill will work, on Android, without having to open the iFrame's URL in a new tab, on Desktop, that is the only way to get Suggestions or autofill, though (open iFrame's sourcecode via the Chrome Option in the rightclick menu, remove "view-source:" from URL, is the usual way I make that happen, currently, as a work-around...) But it'd be really nice if 1PW could actually just detect the Login/Password fields and offer to fill them with the saved credentials?! :)2Views0likes0Comments[BETA - WIN] Unlock with Device doesn't work
I'm using the 1Password BETA on Windows 11 and I've been trying out the "Unlock with Device" feature since its release. Unfortunately, I've never managed to get it to work. Each time it fails to unlock, I'm prompted for my master password, which makes the whole experience less convenient than just using Windows Hello/TPM on its own. I haven't seen a lot of discussion about this feature, and the dedicated Reddit thread seems to be quite inactive with little to no feedback or discussion. It's tough to tell if this is a widespread issue or if I'm doing something wrong. I've seen a few others mention similar problems, but I haven't come across any posts from users who have actually gotten it to work consistently. I'm keen to help get this feature off the ground. Are there any specific troubleshooting steps I can take or logs I can provide that would be helpful for the developers? I'm happy to provide any information that could assist in resolving this issue.28Views0likes3CommentsStrange Windows hello issue suddenly
I use windows 11 and latest version of 1password. Until recently, when win 11 started, I could click on 1 password icon in the taskbar and the windows hello poped up for me to login with my finger print. Suddenly now, when win 11 starts, I get 1password loging box for password to sign in. However, if I click on the hello icon in that same box, I can login with my finger print and not sign in with my password. Why is the 1password sign in going straight to hello sign in box?27Views0likes3Comments👉 Please allow permanent sort by Title in 1Password for Windows
Hello 1Password team, since a few updates on 1Password for Windows, the sort order (for example "Title") is no longer remembered when switching categories or after restarting the app. This makes it cumbersome to work with large vaults, because I always have to re-set "Sort by Title" every time I open the app or change the view. It would be very helpful to have: - either a global default sort option (e.g. always by Title), - or that 1Password simply remembers the last chosen sort order reliably. Is this planned, or could you please consider adding it? Thank you!Solved132Views2likes12Comments
