3 years ago1Password 8 search rant!
This new search UI is a big step in the wrong direction. I see other threads that I am not the only one that feels this way.
Can we just have it like it was in version 7?
I have 176 different passwords for "admin" I used to narrow that down by selecting the vault that I knew it would be in. Now I have to type admin then control click, then scroll through a long list clicking on possible candidates and reading what vault and the other details to find the one that I am looking for. The popup list can't show details. Sure, if I always put in rich memorable descriptions this would be easier. But I pay for this tool because all of that was too much for the about 2000 passwords I have in my databases.
I suspect that there is a new person on the programming team that likes this and wants to leave their mark on the UI. But management needs to consider the time of the users.
There are a lot of details about 1Password that are not optimized for my use case. I know that as a power user that will always be the case. But this search is basically telling me to get lost.

Hello @blturner
Thanks for your feedback on the search UI in 1Password 8. We actually have an open feature request that relates to your request. Therefore, I have gone ahead and added your feedback to highlight further interest.
I would like to also share a few workarounds in terms of the search feature, that may help you use 1Password 8.
You mentioned

This is still possible in 1Password 8 by selecting the vault you wish to search and pressing
Command+Fon Mac orCtrl+Fon Windows.
I created 7 Admin password items and want to search for the Admin password in the New Test Vault only. View the example below:
For further reading, check our guide on search filters in 1Password8 to find what you need.
Also when viewing your account on 1Password.com, it's possible to open a single vault, and any search results would be limited to that vault instead of all vaults.
Let me know how that works out for you.
