I'm sorry that you ran into a conflict where 1Password and Microsoft Word both use the same shortcut. As you mentioned, you can change the shortcut to show Quick Access Ctrl-Shift-Space bar to something else if you'd prefer to use the shortcut to another app:
- Open and unlock 1Password for Windows.
- Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
- Click General and change your shortcut.
Since these keyboard shortcuts are known to conflict with Microsoft Word, in my opinion the default settings for the 1Password shortcuts should be disabled. If a user doesn't use the Microsoft Word shortcuts, or has a greater need for the 1Password shortcuts, they can activate them in 1Password.
Not everyone uses Microsoft Word, or uses that specific shortcut to insert non-breaking spaces in Microsoft Word, and there are other apps that might use different shortcuts. The shortcut has been in place ever since 1Password 8 was released and a lot of users rely on it in their day-to-day workflows. However, you can always change the shortcut if you do find it conflicting with another app like Microsoft Word.
That being said, I'll pass along your feedback to the team so that they're aware of the conflict that some Microsoft Word users might run into. The team will look into possible solutions for the future.
There is another potential MS Word conflict, Ctrl-Shift-L, in the 1Password default keyboard shortcuts.
You can change this shortcut as well using the steps that I posted above. Thank you for sharing your feedback and findings with the community!
