4 years agoFace ID is not working. [Should now be fixed in 1Password 8.10.0-52 update]
Face ID is not working in beta. Is ETH is a keychain issue bc I can seem to get it to work after doing the Face ID set up & reinstall & deauthorized the app

You need Mail.app (the default iOS Mail app) installed and configured with an account available to send a diagnostics report in. We're still continuing to investigate, and hope to know more soon.

Hi, I have the same problem. I updated my 1Password 8 on my iPhone 11 (running iOS 15.6.1) and now every time it locks, I need to enter the master password and the Face ID doesn't work. Like this, it's unusable. It doesn't make sense. Obviously I have set up Face ID on the iPhone and activated it on the 1Password app, and I have tried to delete the app and reinstall it (then the first time it asks me if I want to use Face ID and I say yes). However, Face ID still doesn't work...
I tried to send the diagnosis as indicated above, but it says that I need to set up a mail app on my device (however, I have GMail as the default email app already). I don't know what to do...
Nothing works... come on... 1Password is my favourite app ever... but like this it's unusable...
Please fix this.

I have this same issue (iOS 15.6.1) FaceID fails and requires password entry. App is not usable in this state

Having the same problem here. Any update? Seems like this should be a priority especially since PIN has now been removed. App is basically unusable. Have to enter my full length password every time - hopeless.

I'm also having the same issue with 1Password 8 on my iPhone (iOS 15.6). And I think more people are having the exact same issue.
Every time, Face ID would pass but still shows "that didn't work..." and prompts me to enter the password again. It's very annoying.
I don't know what's the cause but I also have 1Password 7 installed on my iPhone which works just fine using FaceID. - WaitingForGuacamoleOccasional Contributor
Jack_P_1P, thanks for the update. If there's more information I can provide, I'm happy to do so. I did just this morning uninstall and reinstall, and it did ask me to log in and then for my permission to enable Face ID, but then failed on my first attempt to use.

I haven't had any repeat of the issues, but if it happens again I'll note the time before submitting the diagnostic report

Are there any updates on this issue? Now that 1Password 8 seems to be in general release, I had high hopes, but my experience (even with uninstalling and reinstalling the app multiple times) remains the same as reported above. I have a passphrase of decent length, and I don't mind entering it on my phone from time to time, but every time really starts to make the app difficult to use. And half the time, it's telling me that I have to enter my password before using Face ID for the first time, which is even more frustrating.
As others have said here, Face ID worked brilliantly for me in 1Password 7, and 1Password 8 works brilliantly on my Windows computer. It's just making me not want to use my iPhone for anything that requires authentication anymore.
