iOS change of device
Hello there,
I have changed my iPhone from model 7 to model 15, and have configured the new device by transferring the backup of the old phone to the new one.
To my surprise it was not necessary to activate the new phone in my 1Password account, but the 1Password app on my new phone instantly worked and obviously had taken along all it’s necessary information from the backup copy.
Is this simplicity really intentional?
Best regards
Hello Justanyname! 👋
Thanks for reaching out! This is expected behaviour on iOS, if you transfer a backup of your old iPhone you also transfer the apps and app data of that old iPhone. For the 1Password app that includes the encrypted local cache that existed on your old iPhone and that you transferred over to the new iPhone.
1Password for iOS caches your data locally so that they can still access it even when offline.
