Native Password AutoFill Extension macOS
So one of the people in my family subscription for 1P relies heavily on iCloud Keychain. The nice piece about using the native autofill extension is entries from both show up together in-line. This h...

Should now be working again on NIGHTLY 1Password for Mac 8.12.22 (81222009)

Thanks craski I can confirm it is working. Can't tell you how much better this native integration works than the 1Password extension. I can't believe it has taken this long to get this feature into testing but I really am glad you've brought it to us.
I am not sure if you're able to / in a place to share - but if you're not and one of your colleagues is I'd really appreciate it - but can you give a bit of an oversight as to why you guys have been really reticent / slow to implement native auto fill in macOS (I mean there are threads going back 3 years asking for it)? I mean I get you may have differing views on its advantages and disadvantages but I think one thing we can all agree on is the way that Safari implements browser extension technologies is far from perfect and that has obviously led to a litany of issues with the 1Password Safari extension for years and years now. Native auto fill has been the obvious solution for such a long time and I am really puzzled as to why it has been such a low priority? I mean the Safari Extension has improved but it has never been 'good' and given you support native auto fill on iOS it just seems so bizarre about the delay in giving it to us on macOS.
This is even more puzzling when you look at the fact that 1Password started as a 'Mac First' App and in years gone past were always quick to jump on / adopt new Apple APIs, features etc.On another note...
Is Universal Auto Fill (e.g. Command \) known to not work? Tried using it in a few places and it won't fill passwords (e.g. a System Prompt asking for my Mac Password)?- chandana1 month ago

Hi gussic, appreciate you taking the time to ask this question! macOS native autofill APIs require a lot of collaboration with Apple to make this experience a good one for all types of Mac users. This year we were finally able to connect with Apple to get the right kind of APIs we needed to make this a reality. There's still some rough edges we're working through and you may notice them too as you're using it in the nightly. Please feel free to report them so we can gather this feedback and continue to iron out this experience with Apple for you all.

Good news, I have tested this version and it works fine.

Indeed. Native Autofill is completely broken in the nightly build due to this issue.

Hi, I replied in the thread mentioned in post above. A recent internal change did break the mac native autofill integration in NIGHTLY and there is work ongoing to restore it, apologies if it caused any inconvenience
