opening saved password website in current browser tab.....default action??

I was in the process of doing something in Brave browser tab. Then I launched 1p mini and then searched for a password from a different site. I clicked on the password and then it launched the password of the clicked password IN THE SAME BROWSER TAB that I was currently working in. I expected it to launch in a NEW browser tab.

So I needed to know:
a) is that the default behavior of clicking on a password in 1p list? (it lauches whatever website of the password in the active browser tab?
b) is there a way to change this default behavior, so that clicking on a password in 1P would launch the website linked to the password in a NEW window (or new tab window)

I was very irritated and came directly here to document my experience.

1Password Version: 7.7.810
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: win 10 x64 bit

    Apologies for the headache!

    You can adjust how (or where, rather) 1Password Classic opens up your logins by navigating to 1Password > Settings > Browsers and then adjusting the options shown below.
