Problem using iphone access code

I have just joined the community because I am hoping someone here could help with an issue which is making 1password extremely cumbersome to use since a few days… 

On my iPhone, 1Password used to unlock in Chrome using my iPhone passcode without any issue. Since this week, it suddenly asks for my 1Password account password (instead of iPhone passcode) when I try to autofill in Chrome.

I have not changed any settings. The 1Password app itself still unlocks normally with my iPhone passcode. All relevant AutoFill and 1Password settings appear to be enabled.

I do not use Face ID or touch ID (nor do I want to).

Does anyone else suddenly have this issue and know how I can restore passcode unlock for Chrome AutoFill?
