Request for disable "Welcome to 1Password"

I've been using 1P for many years.

On iphone iOS, I often perform the "clean all history" operation in Safari with just one click. However, every time I do this, the 1P extension "Welcome to 1Password" page on safari pops up again and interrupts me, which I find completely unnecessary. No other extension behaves this way every single time.

I think it's time to add a feature to address this issue. It's quite bothersome for me. I now have to keep the 1P extension disabled most of the time to prevent the pop-ups.

If such a feature already exists, please let me know.

This is a suggestion from a personal user.

  • Hello yyynnn42! 👋

Thanks for reaching out. Unlike other browsers, Safari on both macOS and iOS clears the data that browser extensions store and use when you clear your browsing history. After you clear your browsing history, 1Password for Safari thinks that it's just been installed since it doesn't see any existing data and it will show the welcome screen. As far as I'm aware, there isn't anyway for 1Password for Safari, or other browser extensions, to persist data when you clear browsing history.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you're clearing your browser history so often? I can pass along your feedback and experience to our Product team so that they consider consider possible improvements for the future and would like to add that detail.

If version information needs to be provided, I always use the latest iOS version and the latest version of the 1Password  app.
