Room to improve

I switched to this a couple of days ago, because of all positive reviews I saw.
But to be honest, I don't like my experience with 1password so far.

  1. The password it generated didn't work for any of sites I wanted to reset passwords, because password restriction on the target sites. So far I've tried 5 or so.
  2. The "save" function was saving the wrong passwords, it saved the passwords it generated, which I couldn't use. :(
  3. "1password.community" registration was frustrating. This was the error message I saw when submitting:
    "Registration error. Check the required field(s) and try again." 
    None of the fields was highlighted. Very helpful. LOL.

    I'm sorry trying out 1Password hasn't been a smoother experience!

    It sounds like you found the functionality to set the password parameters to align with the rules for each app/website, so I'm glad you were able to get that resolved!

    As for the issue of the wrong password being saved, are you able to share screenshots of what's happening? Just be sure not to share any screenshots with sensitive information. You can also always email support@1password.com for help with anything that involves information you wouldn't want in a public forum.

    I also agree with you on 1Password Community's registration form needing to offer some more guidance and we're working on improving that. Thanks for underscoring that this needs attention.

    As you found out you can configure by clicking the icon looking like this (in ascii art):

    As for saving, it depends on where/how/when you click save - if you save whatever it prefilled it's obviously the wrong one, maybe try a little more detail on how/where you clicked so they can improve it?

    As for this community - there is a lot of feedback on these (new) application, let's wait for one of the mods to pick this one up.

    For the password generator, after talking to ChatGPT, I found out that it can be customized, in an extent. So, that might help the #1 issue above.
