Sync from browser extension to Mac app is very slow
I've had this problem for years and have reported it in the past. It's incredibly frustrating.
I use Firefox on a Mac. When I create and save a new login item, the sync from the browser extension to the Mac app is incredibly slow. I created one today and it took more than 10 minutes for it to sync. It finally synced to the app after I went to my page on 1password.com.
Can 1Password please fix this longstanding issue?

Locking and unlocking the Mac app does resync, but I'd rather not have to go through that process and re-enter password. Can't you add a Sync button, or auto-sync more frequently?

I’m sorry you’re experiencing an intermittent delay before your items appear in the 1Password for Mac app. Normally, 1Password for Mac downloads and displays new items and changes immediately when they’re made on another device. If that isn’t happening, it may suggest that something on your device or network may be interrupting or interfering with 1Password’s normal operation.
As a first step, ensure that any security appliances, firewalls, and VPNs/proxies aren't blocking or interfering with any of 1Password's port and domains: 1Password ports and domains
If that doesn't help then, so that our team can investigate further, I'd like to ask you to create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from your Mac the next time that the issue is occurring (before you fix the issue by manually locking and unlocking the app):
Send a diagnostics report (Mac)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
With your email please include:- A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/sync-from-browser-extension-to-mac-app-is-very-slow/153756/replies/165927

I just experienced to same issue in the opposite direction. I changed a login username in the macOS 1Password app and waited more than 5-6 minutes for it to sync to my browser extensions in Arc and Edge. I finally found this forum post and tried locking the desktop app. The change synced within the few seconds it took to lock/unlock.
It appears 1Password devs never fixed the slow sync issue.- 1P_Dave

I'm sorry that you're seeing a similar issue. Have you only seen the issue once? Or has it occurred multiple times?
The next time that the issue occurs, before you lock and unlock 1Password, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:
Send a diagnostics report (Mac)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

Hello BMorearty! đź‘‹
I'm sorry that you're seeing a delay in viewing an item in the 1Password for Mac desktop app after creating it using 1Password in the browser. So that I can better understand the situation, can you tell me the following:
- If you right-click on the 1Password icon in the menu bar and click Lock, and then unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app, do you see the new item appear in the desktop app?
- The next time that you don't see a new item in the desktop app, does the item immediately appear on 1Password.com? Or is there a delay there as well?
I look forward to hearing from you.-Dave

Hi Dave,
- Yes, locking and unlocking the 1Password desktop app does cause the new login to appear.
- The item always appears immediately on 1Pasword.com.
By the way, I forgot to mention that I also tried quitting and restarting the 1Password desktop app. Surprisingly (to me), that did not fix it.

Thanks for answering those questions! That confirms that the issue is with the 1Password desktop app's connection to your 1Password account. Closing and re-opening the main window of the 1Password app doesn't stop 1Password's background processes so the app might not have locked in your previous tests.
So that I can investigate this further, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:
Send a diagnostics report (Mac)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
