The "sign-in" setting: Should You Choose Offer To Save or Stop Competing

Is one of the “sign-in” options better? Are there more than two? Why can't I just pick one? I've reset the setting over 50 times. I don't know enough to make a choice between the two, so how can I be expected to pick one? Please, explain it to me like I'm five years old.

  • Hello thecatfix! 👋

Thanks for reaching out! Those options control different things:

    • Stop competing "sign in with" pop-ups in the browser - This hides competing sign-in prompts while browsing from sources like your browser so that they don't cause confusion, or conflict, with 1Password's prompts and suggestions.
    • Offer to save "sign-in with" logins - This controls whether you'd like 1Password to remember when you sign into a website using a sign-in with provider like Google or Apple. You can find more details here: Use 1Password to sign in to sites with supported providers

For the best experience, I generally recommend keeping both options turned on.
