Truncated Password Suggestions Prevent Differentiation

Many common naming conventions only differentiate the name towards the tail, so if truncated in a dropdown, all names appear the same. This is what occurs with the 1Password suggestion dropdown, as shown following:

 

If the full card name must be truncated, it should be done in the middle, like macOS Finder does for long filenames. The aforementioned drop down would then appear as, for example:

  • AICIS...Business Services-A
  • AICIS...Business Services-B

A hover over with the full card name would be another, or complementary, improvement.

    Thank you for the feedback! I think that's a pretty neat suggestion that would certainly help folks who use long titles for their items. While I can't make any promises, I've passed this along to our product team internally.
