Vanguard.com blocking
I've been using vanguard.com for many years and have always been able to login using 1Password on Mac or iOS. Today, however, when I filled in my username and password using 1Pw on the Mac, Vanguard gave an error message along the lines of "Can't login with a script."
I was able to copy and paste the password to log in,
So it's only an inconvenience, but I hope 1Pw can work with Vanguard to eliminate it.
Using Safari on Mac mini M2.
Well, I restarted the Mac and haven't had the problem again.
This Mac has had a lot of flakiness since I've had it so I would guess that's the root of the problem rather than something with 1Password or with Vanguard changing its security protocols.
So you can consider my case resolved for now.
Best regards,
Don
PS Thanks for the heads up on the "Don't sign in automatically" option, which I hadn't been aware of.

Just saw this for the first time on Chrome 134.0.6998.89 and Windows 10. The Vanguard site seems to sense a "bot" when 1Password attempted to submit the login page. Vanguard seems to have different versions of web software on different servers. That can create intermittant issues because they occur only on certain servers.
How do I block 1Password from submitting for a site?

You can turn off autosubmit for a particular website by following these steps:
- Click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar.
- Find the login for Vanguard.com in the 1Password pop-up.
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the item and then click Don't sign in automatically.
- Try to fill your login again using 1Password in the browser.

Apparently I was misleading in my problem description. I had not enabled "log in automatically" and was not aware of that interesting feature. I tried enabling it and had no trouble.
Is there something else that can trigger "bot" detection in some server login code?

Hello dogolaca! 👋
I'm sorry that you're unable to sign into Vanguard.com after filling your login credentials into the website. While I don't have an account with that website, I do see that our development team is tracking an issue where filling might fail on that particular webpage.
So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:
- Which browser are you using?
- If you turn off autosubmit then does filling work? You can turn off autosubmit by following these steps:
- Click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar.
- Find the login for Vanguard.com in the 1Password pop-up.
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner of the item and then click Don't sign in automatically.
- Try to fill your login again.
I look forward to hearing from you.-Dave

I'm happy that you're no longer seeing the issue after restarting your Mac.
