Wells Fargo Passkey Not Saving In 1P
Hello. When I attempt to save a passkey from wellsfargo.com in Brave, 1P prompts me to create a new item or update existing:
Regardless of which option I choose, Windows Security prompts me to save the passkey in Windows Hello and the 1P browser plugin displays the following error:
Windows 11 24H2
Brave 1.78.102
1P 8.10.76
1P extension 8.10.76.32
I get the same error on a Mac with the latest version of macOS, Brave, 1P, 1P extension
Any assistance on how to save the passkey in 1P would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi Philippe23, it looks like the Mozilla folks are still doing their review before they make it available. Stay tuned for 8.10.80 to be available there soon.

This is not a solution. It is a workaround.

I confirmed the 8.10.80-18 beta browser extension works:

Thank you 1Password team for fixing this so quickly.

Thanks for letting the community know! A fix is indeed being tested in the latest beta version of 1Password in the browser:
We’ve fixed an issue with creating passkeys for Wells Fargo.
As soon as testing in the beta is finished, we hope to release the fix to the stable version as soon as possible.

Same issue on Win 11 Firefox 139.0.1.
Workaround worked: WF app 25.05.01.58 & 1P app 8.10.78 on Android 15.

I have this exact same problem.
The iOS workaround did work for me.

FWIW, I was able to register the passkey from the iOS app and have it saved to 1Password. Then, hitting the passkey login button here https://connect.secure.wellsfargo.com/auth/login/present?origin=cob&LOB=CONS with Firefox or Chrome worked.

Any possible solution for those of us that don't have an iPhone?

This worked for me as well. Passkey created on my iPhone, saved in 1P, then works on my Mac in Chrome. Interestingly, it still asked for a 2-factor code after using the Passkey. So, the combined security of Passkeys and 2-factor authentication.

Same. I initially thought the passkey would forego the 2FA, so I'm not sure how I feel about continuing to still use both. Of course it's more secure having both I'm sure. But I was feeling like the passkeys were supposed to be more secure to begin with. I'm still using both for now.

I'm encountering the same issue with Brave Browser v1.78,102 - MacOS Sequoia 15.4.1 (24E263) Macbook M1 Pro. Could we get a timeline on when this issue would be resolved by the 1Password team. This is quite annoying
- gumbusNew Contributor
Same exact issue. MacOS Sequoia 15.5 on an M2 MacBook Pro. Chrome 136.0.7103.114, 1Password Extension 8.10.76.32
- jcrAggieNew Contributor
Exact same issue. Both Windows 11 24H2 and Mac Sequoia 15.5. Edge, Chrome and Arc. All most recent versions. Does not seem to be OS/Browser issue?
