217 TopicsExperiment #4 – New interface in 1Password.com’s vault view
Hi Folks! Today we’re bringing you a beta version of a major update to the vault item view interface on 1Password.com. Our goal is to align the design with the main desktop application as well as improve our ability to introduce new features consistently across all of our platforms. Unlike previous experimental features in labs, you are not required to manually enable this experiment, and it will not appear under the “Labs” tab in the 1Password apps. As this is an updated vault item view of our web interface, you can access it directly via this link. At this time, the new interface provides a read-only version, which means it is limited in functionality compared to the current interface. We wanted to start testing as early as possible to identify any potential issues well in advance of a full rollout. Full functionality that aligns with the current vault item view interface will be gradually introduced over the next couple of months as we continue testing and developing. The primary questions I'm trying to answer are: 1. Do you prefer this new interface over the old one? 2. Do you see value in us rolling out this new interface of the vault item view to all 1Password users? 3. Are you experiencing any performance issues? 4. How often do you use the vault item view in 1Password.com? We are eager to hear what you think about this new web interface. Please share your feedback and thoughts below in the thread! Updates Jun 20 Added Watchtower Added a link to the admin dashboard from the vaults menu Added "What's New" to the help menu, which links to our new release notes page Added vaults in quick find results Improved performance when loading an account with many vaults May 16 Added ability to share items Added item sharing history Recently Deleted now limits deleted items to the last 30 days May 2 Added support for viewing item history Apr 15 Added support for creating and editing items Added categories back to the sidebar Feb 15 Fixed part of the issue firebeyer mentioned with custom item categories. Right now all custom categories will be grouped together under "Others", and we'll be fully supporting active custom categories soon. Group and sort categories in the item list filter menu to match the desktop apps. Feb 6 Began supporting localization for the 12 languages already supported in the rest of the web app and other apps. There are some tasks remaining there. Maintain the last item list sort order throughout the app and across page reload. Show an alert popup when encountering unexpected errors, to hopefully avoid just showing a blank screen like norysang reported. Squashed some minor bugs.50KViews19likes530CommentsSupport for Imput's Helium Browser
Hiya! I'm an avid 1Password user and I utilize every possible corner of it. BUT there's a certain issue that I'm facing when I'm using it with unsupported browsers. Mainly, Helium Browser (https://github.com/imputnet/helium) which includes unbiased privacy at no compromise to webpage functionality isn't supported. This is an issue because there's no other browser I'd use. The problems that arise are apparent on all platforms, like: Manual addition in the 1Password app on macOS (which, lately, seems to spaz out when using it with the extension) Inability to use with the system app on Windows which inconveniences users by making them log into their vault twice (which, if I guarantee, many have a complex password for and can't bore themselves typing it out multiple times per session) Broken behaviour on Linux, where even with the custom browser config it still can't unlock the vault if it's unlocked on the system. No, I wasn't running the Flatpak version. IMHO 1Password is better than the competition in terms of UX, but seeing my daily driver struggle with that with no way to fix without resorting to this is awful.1.4KViews3likes6CommentsSharing vault with another, existing 1Password user
I have a family account that I share with my wife and two kids. I convinced my sister to buy her own account, and she has a personal account. My sister and I need to share a vault that contains information about our aging parents. I can invite my system as a guest by email, but your invitation appears to try to set up a new account for sister. She doesn't want a new or different account; she wants to keep her account and all her vaults, but we want to be able to share a between brother and sister. How do I do this?Solved1KViews0likes7CommentsSharing with other 1Password users
I've just made the move from a Family plan on Lastpass to 1P. This is after a divorce, and we're still untangling all our shared accounts. I currently just have a personal 1P account. I've organized the remaining shared passwords that either the whole family needs to access (ie, Netflix, Hulu, etc) or that need to be shared just between me and my ex in vaults. If my ex gets her own 1P account, can I share a vault with her and have it show up in her 1P account? Or, does that require me to upgrade to the family plan and be the nice guy and let her have an account?Solved999Views0likes3CommentsImporting from Bitwarden fails
I have rather large Bitwarden vault with 1500 entries, mostly logins but also secure notes, serials and credit card informations. Many use additional custom fields. When I follow the instructions and export the Bitwarden native, PBKDF2 encrypted JSON and use it to import online I just get an error without any details whats going wrong. If I use CSV it's a lot of manual work as a) there is no way to use a column to tell the importer what kind of entry it is and b) I can only import all fields into a single custom field and then manually have to recreate them. Pretty painful. Is there any other way I can script an import not losing custom fields? Or better, can the Bitwarden import just be fixed ;)900Views2likes9CommentsArchiving all items in a vault
A long time ago, I started putting items that I didn't need anymore into a vault that I called "Graveyard" because, if I remember correctly, at that time it wasn't possible to search in the Archive. When I saw that Search was possible in the Archive I moved all the items in "Graveyard" to it. But when I tried to delete the "Graveyard" vault, a message told me that if I did this, all the archived items from that vault would be deleted too. So I didn't delete the vault. Is there any way to get rid of this unused vault but keep the items in the Archive?Solved899Views0likes7CommentsCreating a new family member's vault and password?
I have three family members, one of them had an individual account that I want to migrate into the family account. I signed into the family account on the family members computer. I created a new vault in the family account and moved their passwords to the new vault I selected the new vault as the default vault to use But when I log out and back in, 1P wants the family vaults password? I would like to family member to use there own password, preferably the one they were using before I migrated? The tutorial mentions the family member getting an email with confirmation of the move and a new secret key, but that never happened, so I did something wrong. Been at it for over an hour and would love to get this sorted as the family member uses their 1P during the work week (today is Sunday) TIA Henry800Views1like4CommentsShare Vaults across accounts [Feature request]
I have a family account that I share with my wife and two kids. My sister (let's caller Alice) has a personal account. I have a friend (let's call him Bob) who has a personal account. Let's call me Charlie. My parents are aging and my sister and I have access to their bank account and are setting up automatic bill pay. I would like to create a vault that Charlie and Alice can both see and edit that contains information about our parents. I know that Charlie can invite Alice to become a member of the Charlie family plan and thereby give access to Alice, but in order to do that Alice must export all her current entries from Alice's-personal-account and then import them into Alice's-account-in-Charlie's-Family. That's a hassle, and it also means that if Alice later marries and starts her own Family account, she'll lose access her parents' information housed in Charlie's Account's vault. Charlie and Bob play squash and use SignUpGenius and a Gmail account to manage a Sunday doubles squash match with invitations that go out weekly to 50 players. Bob travels a bit, and so does Charlie and they switch off the weekly duties of managing the interaction with SignUpGenius and Gmail. Each has their own 1Password account, both have shared the SignUpGenius and Gmail credentials with each other, but both would like to be able to amend them. Neither wants to be a member of the other's "family" for the purposes of 1Password, but they both want read/write access to the shared credentials. Request: please allow Vault sharing across paid 1Password accounts. The sharing should allow transfer of ownership of the Vault from account A to B, from B to C, and from C back to A. The sharing should allow the owner (A) to share with many people (each with their own paid accounts) B, C, D...etc. and should allow A to manage which parties can read, write, etc. the details in the shared vault.Solved800Views1like11CommentsHow to Migrate 1Password Vaults to Bitwarden Folders (With Passkeys!) using iOS 26 CXP
I just finished migrating my credentials from 1Password to a fresh Bitwarden setup, and I wanted to share a workaround for a major pain point regarding vault organization and Passkeys. Those who used 1Password v7 will remember that exporting by vault was standard. In v8, this has been reduced to an "all-at-once" account export. If you want to maintain your organization during a move, this creates a mess. The Challenge: Maintaining Structure If you have multiple vaults (Work, Personal, Shared, etc.) and want them to land in specific Bitwarden Folders, an "all-at-once" export creates a massive, unorganized pile. Plus, standard file exports (CSV/1PUX) usually break Passkeys. The Solution: The "Single-Vault Pipeline" (iOS 26 CXP) By using the newly introduced Credential Exchange Protocol (CXP) on iOS 26, you can move your data app-to-app, vault-by-vault, and keep your Passkeys intact. (Note: I used a 1Password Family account and a free Bitwarden account for this). The Migration Manual: Prep 1Password (Web Browser) Log into 1Password.com on a desktop. Go to Manage Account > People > Select your account > Manage Vaults. The Trick: Deselect all vaults until only one is left visible to your user. Now, your mobile app will only "see" that specific vault. The CXP Transfer (iOS Device) Open the 1Password app on your iPhone/iPad. Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Start Export. Enter your account name (there is a hint at the bottom) and approve. Select Bitwarden as the destination. It will open Bitwarden and securely transfer everything from that one visible vault—including Passkeys and TOTP seeds. Assign to Folders (Bitwarden Desktop) Open the Bitwarden Web Vault on your computer. Click on "No Folder" (this shows all the items you just imported that don't have a folder assignment). Click the "Select All" checkbox at the top. Click the three dots (⋮) above the list > Add to Folder. (Note: You’ll need to create the folder first by pressing the + New button). Rinse and Repeat Go back to the 1Password web interface. Deselect the vault you just finished and select the next one. Repeat the iOS export. Because Bitwarden treats these as new "unassigned" items, you can neatly move the next batch into the correct folder. Why this is the optimal way: Passkeys & 2FA: Unlike file exports, CXP moves the actual cryptographic keys for Passkeys and your TOTP seeds. Shared Protocol: Because it uses a modern exchange protocol, misc info and custom fields transfer much more accurately than a messy CSV. Organization: You don't have to manually sort 1,000 items at once. You do it in controlled, vault-to-folder chunks. Hope this helps someone else stuck in the migration process!700Views2likes5CommentsSetup for family sharing computer
Background: My wife and I share a desktop and a laptop PC. We use the same windows logon on both. We have separate email accounts. We have a 1Password family. During the trial period and before creating my wife’s vault, I installed the PC version on both computers and installed the browser extension for Foxfire. After importing my passwords, we established my wife’s vault. When we logon to 1Password online we can choose whose vault we want to logon to. The Problem: The PC version and the browser extensions are linked to my vault. I have not been able to discover a way to get either of them to offer a choice of whose vault we want to logon to. Is there a setting I am missing? Or do I need to setup separate user accounts on each PC? If the latter, will we still be able to use the same browser? I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.Solved700Views0likes10Comments
