1Password 8 on Mac not updating

We have a weird situation where only on a Mac Mini M4, we have 1Password 8 installed. We are on the latest version. Items in our vault there are not up to date compared to say the items I have on my phone in the same vault.

We just did a Reset in the application and logged back in and the items are still out of date.

What else can we do?

Some feedback on the suggested course of action: Uninstalling 1Password on Mac is always a bit weird and involves deleting files, some of which are in hidden folders.

Please asks your Devs to spend 2 hours to create an uninstaller for Mac. It would make the whole thing so much easier for everyone involved! Just because it doesn't happen very often, doesn't mean it only happens to tech-savy people and if I forward an employee this information, it is bound to mean only one thing: I will have to do it myself. We don't all have IT departments. So if you could simplify it so that an average person can uninstall and then re-install 1Password, that would be great.

Thanks for considering and passing on.

Thanks for the reply. You can uninstall the 1Password app by dragging it to the Trash, this is how apps are usually uninstalled on macOS. However, user data is stored separately from the app itself and you can remove it manually using this guide if needed: To remove your 1Password data

I'll pass your feedback regarding an uninstaller along to the team internally. If you have any other questions regarding this issue then please reply to my colleague's email in your support ticket. To prevent duplication of efforts, I'll close this community thread.

  • Hello seltzdesign! đź‘‹

I'm sorry that you're not seeing the same items on all devices. If you lock and unlock 1Password on all devices then that does resolve the situation?

If it doesn't, do you see a correct and updated version of your items when you log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com  (in the browser, not the app)?

      Hi Dave.

No, it does not resolve the issue and yes, on 1Password.com everything is up to date.

I sent an email to mailto:support@1password.com with the Mac diagnostics report and 2 screenshots.

Is there an uninstaller for 1Password for Mac, so we can try a clean install?

Thank you for answering my questions and for sending in a diagnostics report. I see that my colleague has sent you a reply via email, please continue the conversation there and the team will be able to help further.
